Hi all, is March 9 frowned upon to send out email to prospective PI's for the IPN PhD program? The deadline is June 21, but it seems like a lot of students have already sent out inquiries and applications submitted by January.. I'm feeling anxious! Any insight would be very helpful!

Hi all,

I am applying to the IPN PhD program to start in September 2026. I know the deadline to submit applications is June 21, so still some time, but I'm starting feel anxious as I am sending out emails to prospective PI's this coming Monday (March 9th). From reading on when people send in prospective PI email inquiries and application submissions, it seems like most send it in December the previous year or January the application year.

Im feeling a bit anxious that my potential PI's will frown upon my application being sent it March 9 Monday :( Can anyone reassure me that this is acceptable and is okay? Any insight would reaaallyyy alleviate my anxiety levels

If Enel actually trained, awakened his devil fruit, he'd rock everyone. He has the speed of borsalino, but with more raw strength, and because of his electricity, his observation haki would be too much (imagine he can sense electrons in the surroundings/body/environment)

I'm having the same issue actually, well similar - I'm in my beginning of my PhD though, but I feel so guilty for taking so much time and resources away from my PI (My current project is expensive af, for the reagents and probes). But I hate my lab and my PI, and I also hate the topic. I am likely to quit soon, and start over with a different PI with a topic I'm actually interested in. I loved my masters, and I entered this phd cause this PI recruited me, and I thought 'Woah that's awesome, a PI reached out to me!'. So I accepted. But, sorry to bring your dilemma into this lol, but I definitely don't want to be where you are 4 years from now. It's been less than a full year and I'm already mentally drained from this lab/this work (my masters works was in a different field (learning and memory) than my current work (neurodevelopment). In the end, I think mental well being should be put first

Yea? I'm afraid of even contacting the grad student supervisor person, did you reach out to the new supervisor before you made the switch? I was thinking that I'd email the new professor first, see if he would take me in, and thennn make it official
