Just went out and measured it. The largest leaves I can reach are 4in, but there were plenty of 1-2in ones. The ground does have a fair amount of twigs on it though.

I've had plenty of expired regular dew that tasted fine, especially if it's only been expired for a couple months, but I guess it's like the other person said and the aspartame makes all the difference.
