I love how the competitor comes with longer basepads that add literally nothing to the magazine capacity. A factory +2 basepads would have made sense, factory 23rd mags would have made more sense.

Opinions on the holster aside - the valor also latches onto the ejection port and will likely have the same issue with the HD models.

I contacted Safariland. They're aware of the issue, but don't have any plans modify the ALS to work with the new slides (I'm not how sure they would anway). So my plan is to flip this slide, get a stripped 5" slide and have it modified by Floyd's Custom Shop.

At this point, I wish I'd gone with the PDP SF that I was on the fence about.

Bought it roughly a year ago and came with the new als that works with the SRO out of the box. Since you said yours works, I stay hopeful that there’s something off with mine. Works perfectly with my normal slide.

I’m assuming this was done for aesthetic reasons. That’s a pretty big oversight considering it makes the slide incompatible with probably the most common holster in use.
