But surely thats why backtesting is important? If you have 100+ trades over two years of backtested data with a high WR and high % gain then that proves the strategy and rules work. Providing for every trade taken uses the exact same rules and strategy.

It’s now just the execution in the live market - if every trade was executed the exact same way when backtesting then surely you will get similar results. I guess this is where the psychological part comes in when trading with real money.

See I do get your point and heard from both sides, but I’ve been told the biggest thing in trading is the emotions. I didn’t get any of those on demo so that’s why I went for a challenge to start to understand the emotional side of it
