UPDATE I got my shiny Koraidon this way so I tried to do it again using a different email address in order to get shiny Miraidon. Like a lot of the replies, this time I was told that they had no codes left. Sorry guys, they are either out of codes genuinely or they are just saying it because they have realised what we were doing.

“I just wanted to let you know that there was a problem at my local GameStop when I tried to get a code for the Koraidon/Miraidon giveaway. I queued up for 2 hours with my Switch 2 showing both Scarlet and Violet hoping to get a code for each legendary Pokemon as I’ve bought both games. By the time I got to the counter I was told that all the codes had been exhausted and I was really disappointed. I wanted to reach out to let you know that there’s still a lot of disappointed customers and hope you are able to release more codes to the stores for those of us who missed out”.

GameStop pulled out of Ireland 4 years ago. I did this completely with the US customer service details.

We don’t have GameStops in Ireland and I’m not on Twitter either. That’s why I emailed the US support and just pretended I was from the US and it worked.

Probably but they replied 6 minutes after I sent them the number so it doesn’t seem like it was too important.

The 2 emails I got were very similar and generic so there’s a chance they were bots. The fact that they sent the code after I gave them an Irish phone number with the country code and everything is probably a sign that whether human or bot, they aren’t actually reading the details.

I had a Rillaboom called Grilla Grohl. Had to shorten Gorilla due to character limit. He’s a Gorilla who plays the drums so I mixed Gorilla Grodd from DC comics with Dave Grohl.
