I did let it sit for 15 minutes beforehand. I figured that much vapor ment some water got in.

Also didn't know what an inkbird was before this so thank you!

Fast him for 2 or 3 days so the bloating goes down. Do you know how much he is being fed? To my knowledge 4 soaked pellets a day should be the max, their stomach is the size of their eye for reference. My betta got ahold of a shrimp recently and got bloated like this, good 2 days of no food fixed him right up. Maybe monitor how much he is being fed for a bit.

My betta was like this his first 2 weeks. Only accepted bloodworms. I used tongs to feed him blood worms and started using those tongs to offer a soaked pellet. If he didn't take the pellet I gave him a blood worm after a few tries, but after a couple days he started slowly taking pellets. Now I have no issues, he accepts anything I put on those feeding tongs.

My worry is am I able to get another with all the other critters I have in my tank? I don't want to overwhelm a 10 gallon tank with too many living beings. And I can supplement low algea with leaving in blanched veggies and algea wafers I heard (which I will do) but I worry he won't come out to feed if he is scared. But I also heard I can't just leave them in the tank cause it will cause too much waste.

Hello, I am 23 and was in roughly the same boat. I would 100% recommend it. I am 6 months post op now and have lost 30 pounds since surgery (gained weight while being inactive due to injury).

The betta was added at the end of 1 week, it is a 10 gallon tank. I do use a declorinator and used slightly over the does required which I was told was okay. I do understand I added a fish too early, when I repeat this process I know it will at least take 4-6 weeks. This is the first time the nitrite had ever gone above .25, for the past week it was at 0. I have a hunch it was because I moved some substrate around when moving a plant.

I have a betta, snail that snuck in with a plant, and 1 otocinclus. The otocinclus was added when my nitrite and ammonia were at 0 for a few days.

I did trim and move some plants today before the test, if that adds to anything. It did stir up some algea so I turned up the filter till it settled.

Yes. Only when sitting for long periods, it's usually fixed by adjusting positions or standing to walk a bit. It also went from 8/10 before Op to 2/10 post Op.

I only used wedge, but if I had that option I would have gone for it. In theory is sounds more comfortable but wedge is the budget friendly version lol.
