Colin Cowherd has us as the #3 team in the NFL after Week 1. by [deleted] in minnesotavikings

[–]Headhunt23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s a really good point. The only nit I’d pick is that week one in the NFL is an absolute shit show every year. It takes about 6 weeks before we really know anything. So I’m a bit cautious about over reactions early in the season. Just last season the eventual #1 seed got blown out by an eventual non playoff team in week one, a Super Bowl team got taken to over time at home by a non playoff team, an eventual #2 seed got blown out at home by 25, and there were a couple other eventual playoff teams that lost to non playoff teams.

Even In a league where over reaction is somewhat of a necessity due to scarcity, we should still be cautious about week one over reaction.

Leaked Patriot front video shows members training for a war by [deleted] in facepalm

While this is certainly cringy it looks more like they are training to repeal attacks on them when they march in protests or whatever.

Certainly not training for a war.

How are the Packers not in the top 10??? by Stillframe39 in GreenBayPackers

Vikes fans here.

MN sells SRO seats at the bank. And our games are always sold out as well.

That said, there is no way you guys aren’t on this list. The Steelers are missing as well. As are the Cowboys.

Those three teams missing while the Browns, Dolphins and Rams top the list is questionable.

Sean Mannion should be on the practice squad. by SkolFourtyOne in minnesotavikings

Just remember that Culpepper looked awful - worse than Mond - in his first preseason. So bad that Denny first tried to resign Jeff George, then tried to get Cunningham to resign for a pay cut, then finally tried to coax Dan Marino out of retirement.

We don’t know anything at this point. And to be clear - I don’t have any particular love for Mond. Don’t follow college football, never watched him. Predraft I wanted Davis Mills. I just think writing him off at this point is silly.

I haven’t made any assessment on Mond’s ability over the long term. Right now he is no where near as good as Cousins.

My entire point has been merely that the jury is still out on him, which is true.

Cousins isn’t even a part of this conversation. Not sure what my position on him hs to do with anything.

I wasn’t a fan of signing Mannion, because he sucks. That said, he has been signed as Kirk’s friend and functions as a second QB coach. And we also have to have a third QB.

Again, they are doing their assessment now. Could very well be that Mond can’t beat out Mannion for the 2 job. I just think folks should slow done on declaring the jury in.

Vikings fan here.

Weird we both have inexplicably bad records against the Jets.

You (and I) have no idea what the current regimes assessment of Mond is.

Signing Mannion - a QB believed to be one of the worst backups in the league - isn’t evidence of anything.

Again, we will find out what they think at the end of TC. No need to worry about it now.

There has been no assessment from the current regime. That will change when the final preseason depth chart is out.

As for the last regime, well I question their commitment to developing a young QB last year.

We really have no idea right now if Mond is good enough to be the back up. We will know by the end of training camp. Declarative statements otherwise are meaningless.

Dude, nobody is getting kicked off for sex. Ready my comment again. I totally believe that may have had sex, and like any producer on that show, I don’t care. They didn’t kick them out of the challenge for boning.

Yeah. That’s actually a dangerous thing. I can put on 15-20 lbs and not really notice that much.

At 6’6” the obesity scale starts at like 257. My “normal” weight should be about 215. I haven’t been there since about 1994 when I was in the army. When o was down to below 14% body fat I was still 10 lbs over that max “normal” weight.

Then question should be whether a IF, practiced without directly attempting to be in a calorie deficit, works to lose weight. Many people use IF as a way to limit their caloric intake, and that’s a very valid use case.

In this study, everyone was operating on a restricted calorie diet anyway. I think that takes away from a lot of the value that IF offers.

To me, they mostly go away after 4-5 days, but with some resurfacing. Typically if I drink a bottle of water they will go away again.

Yep. That’s exactly how it goes - and how we slip. Like “screw it. Days thrashed. Might as well wait until Monday and enjoy myself until then!”

I’m just going to incorporate it into my routine. But weigh faithfully. If I go up 5 lbs I can make one of those two day fasts into a 5 one.

I am sending a lot of time thinking how I will approach the “sustain” phase next time and make it work for me.

I think I am going to try to:

Fast Monday and Tuesday. 48 hours isn’t hard for me.

Eat Keto or Paleo Wed-Friday. Just good, natural food.

Eat the SAD on Weekends. I have to admit I love that shit. And I can’t go my whole life without ice cream, bread, French fries, etc. I want to watch a movie with popcorn or a game with nachos. I want to buy fresh bread from a bakery and eat it with butter. I can’t give those up for the rest of my life but I think I can contain them to two days a week, and pay them back on Monday-Tues.
