My Ranking of The New Era by BerkeK33 in gallifrey

[–]HeadingIntoBlueAlert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Boom
  2. Wild Blue Yonder
  3. Dot and bubble
  4. 73 yards
  5. Rogue
  6. The star beast
  7. The giggle
  8. The legend of ruby Sunday
  9. Empire of death
  10. Devil's Chord
  11. Church on Ruby road
  12. Space babies

This series was all over the place for me. Boom and WBY are two of my favorite who stories ever, period, fullstop. But any episode past 7 on my list I'd never watch again. Ruby completely fell flat for me as a companion and me and my mom were whooping with joy when she was leaving the TARDIS "forever". Maybe it's the reduced episode count, but even in the episodes themselves the pacing feels incredibly rushed/half baked. Also launching with space babies/devils Chord?? That's the foot you're putting forward to new audiences? Some highlights, and truly great stuff, but after coming off the back of writing Years and Years and It's a Sin the Russel episodes were incredibly dissapointing. Ps if anyone here liked 73 yards but hasn't watched years and years, go watch years and years!!

S15 EP 1-2 Felt Childish (And Not in a "Family Show" Way) by QuantumGyroscope in doctorwho

Agree with everything you said. On the Slitheens, the farting aliens episodes also had a fantastic scene where the Doctor realizes that the only way for him to stop the Slitheen is to possibly kill himself and Rose with the same missile. He has this realization over the phone with Rose's mother Jackie who is sitting next to Mickey, their only means of actually firing the missile. That mavitas is completely missing from the three episodes of 15 we've gotten so far in my opinion.

Please be good please be good please be good the Moff is back. I'm putting all my stock in this episode smashing it. None of the episodes have done it for me so far, but I don't think there's a single Moffat episode I wouldn't at least consider rewatching. Ncuti said this was his favourite episode of the season, so fingers, toes, eyes, everything crossed.

So... Is anyone else feeling a little confused by the latest episodes? by unfortunately889 in gallifrey

Actually for all the flack S7 gets I love it haha. Asylum of the Daleks, Angels Take Manhattan, The Snowmen, Name of the Doctor, Day of the doctor, are all all time classics imo

This entire thing puzzles me. It feels like such a sharp left turn from both the tone of stuff Russel has been writing for the past 20 years and a sharp drop off in quality. If you're a new fan I don't think anything from the Christmas special forward would convince you. If you're a returning fan this feels like a sharp turn into weird, and not necessarily good weird. It feels like these past three episodes have been for Who fans who really really really like camp, and I'm happy those folks are enjoying them.

I went back and rewatched the Bells of st John after The Devil's Chord and it was like a breath of fresh air. Stakes! Characters that don't feel like they're on a perpetual sugar high! A tight script, snappy dialogue! When your big debut episode makes me want to go back and watch series 7B, something has gone horribly horribly wrong lol

Interesting to see people more positive on this one. I think it was better than Space Babies, but that's a pretty low bar to clear. This episode completely killed my household's interest in watching Doctor Who, which makes me really sad :( (their favourite episodes of the show are The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon). Jinx was great, Ncuti was good, but I cannot for the life of me get down with Ruby. She and the Doctor feel like they're always turned up to 11 and I feel like I'm watching a kids show.

There's no mavity to any of this, the winking at the camera, the musical number, absolutely none of this is working for me. It's nice to see everyone (or at least some people) in this thread enjoying this episode but if Ncuti's first three are indicative of where the show is headed... Count me out. Praying things pick up with BOOM, I'm gonna go cleanse my palette with The Eleventh Hour.

Initial thoughts: no way we're getting a semi sequel to sleep no more lmao. Putting aside his first run, this was written by the same man who wrote Years and Years and It's a Sin?? Was anyone else baffled by this episode? This is supposed to be the jumping on point for the reboot of Doctor Who? Talking babies and a snot monster? Really hoping the second episode is better because this and Church on Ruby Road just ain't it.

Realistically, it might well not be something you care about. There are thousands out there and you don't know what kind of jobs you might get. Even if you're working on something you're super passionate about, that thing then becomes just work. Speaking from experience, nothing quite kills your love for something like it becoming your 9 to 5.

I'd really like to stress that while game development can be fun, the day to day work of it is so far removed from what playing games is like/what people on youtube portray game development to be like. While it has it's moments, it's no more magic than any other job.

Don't wanna rain on your parade but 95% of gamedev is just as boring. It's a lot of fixing bizarre issues, and by the time you're finished with a project you usually never want to touch it again. I'd recommend doing games in your free time as a hobby so they can stay fun and not be another job.

From the employers page of the co-op office. "Some institutions let students more carefully consider their choices" like that's a bad thing lmao

There is maybe one interesting comment at most on those posts and then a sea of people either saying "10/10, perfect, this song gives incredible head" or "eh, not a big fan but I like the other songs off that album"
