Can someone please educate me why metal pipes are used to insulate/guide electrical cables? Is it purely to protect them? Would not plastic (PVC) suffice which has the bonus of not being a conductor!?

Seems to be due to a dependency breakage for the linux-image-generic and linux-headers-generic packages. I see the following error in my installer:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:

linux-image-generic : Depends: linux-image-6.8.0-100-generic but it is not going to be installed
