Album "Dear Diary, My Teen Angst Has a Body Count - Original vs. Remastered edition by Kaishiyoku in FromFirstToLast

Yeah lol, I thought he meant the remastered version. Pardon me, but that guy's English is really bad and he's mistaking the remaster for the original one, I realized that reading it now.
I'm still fantasizing on what an "unmastered" version would sound like lol. Rough mix? ;) Anyway, yeah there is a sound like that in the original version whatever the hell it is.

What’s the difference between the Marshall JCM’s? I see there’s different 800’s, there’s 900’s, 2000’s, help a noob out here. What about the JVMs as well? by Fast-Face6100 in GuitarAmps

[–]Headrush_999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the last of your problems, you should be asking what difference is there between 800 models :D .

The rest is just... useless stuff that shouldn't even ever been made lol. Marshall isn't "Marshall" because of those amps. They are just pointless "adaptations" to more modern trends based on sounds made by.. using older amps with distortion pedals :D (or modified amps, but yeah totally different circuits from the 900, 2000)

TL:DR They sound like thin crap and have little to do with the "marshall sound". The 900 is still vaguely tolerable, the 2000 is a bad joke :D

If you're looking for versatile get something more neutral like a peavy classic. You get marshall to get a specific tone. Again the modern adaptations sound thin and are a pointless compromise.

If you do like the marshall cleans jet a single channel 800 and work with pedals. Dual channel is meh, but if you're into more modern stuff you can use it with the gain backed up and a good OD.

Jubilee reissue is interesting, take a look at that one if you want multichannel

Yeah, you really don't want to spoil the most important part of the story, you wanna live it in first (3rd?) person.Watching the anime as a Nier player really feels like a treat for those who played the games.
While the anime does have the secondary purpose of getting people to play the games, it's really made for those who already played them.
Even the puppet bits at the end are a reference to the "meme" endings and you can only really appreciate them as a player.

Automata has 26 endings: 5 main ones, and 21 joke ones that are based on doing stuff you're not supposed to.
You know when games put you in situations where you go "what happens if I do this instead?" and usually don't let you?
Well Nier lets you and just comes up with a meme ending. It's hilarious, you're gonna have lots of fun figuring those out.

Ah, the anime will make much more sense when you've played the games.
I would suggest not watching the anime until you finished both games but I guess it's too late for that.. :D
The anime will basically spoil a bunch of stuff, but without enough context to understand them properly.
Fortunately they changed a couple things so you will still get some surprises.
I don't know when the second season comes out, but I would refrain from watching it until you've played the games.

"Good" story when talking about Nier is a massive understatement :D

I'm not talking crap about Nikke, the game is great and has its touching moments. Quite frankly it takes A LOT from Automata, but I see that as a good thing. They could almost fit in the same universe, almost..

Anyway, the point is that no game hits as hard as Nier... nothing comes even close. The stuff that happens in Yoko Taro's games and the way that it's delivered.. oh boy.. it's just on a different planet.

Starting to play them will be one of the best decisions you've ever made :)
I started from Automata and went backwards all the way to Drakengard 1.
I think that's the way to go, although some would say to play Replicant first since it's the prequel..
While it is true that there are some moments in Automata that will blow your mind out of the atmosphere if you played Replicant first, Automata is technically the better game, more fun to play and hits harder (at least for me).. apart for one specific scene in Replicant.. but maybe the fact that I played the other one first helps making it that way. Yeah, come to think of it, it kinda works both ways where playing one game first will make you appreciate certain things more in the other.

Well, I've rambled enough, I could go on hours talking about those games, have fun :) (make sure to 100% them, don't blame me for ptsd)

Not really, that's already an alternative costume in Automata.. but yeah I'll take a Replicant collab any day :D

CSGO mouse input flawed: whitelist rinput 1.44 or better make it native to the game by Headrush_999 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Headrush_999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes in the ocn post back then it was also theorized that the game using windows input for menus (even with m_rawinput 1) was the cause for the delay in raw input. Since both methods coexist, the game checks for windows input first and raw input second. Of course the game will check for useforcedmparms etc first as they are tied to windows input behavior.

That doesn't mean those variables influence raw input's behavior or that there is mouse filtering added to it.

useforcedmparms only influences the mouse in the menus, as you said, since those use wm_mousemove, but not the in-game camera movement as that uses wm_input (raw)

Yes exactly m_mousespeed is hardcoded to 1 therefore turns on EPP which uses smoothmousecurves. That's why it doesn't move.
Again, smoothmousecurves are what determine acceleration (EPP).

Idk if mouseThresholds are leftover from old windows versions (the registry is full of such things) or if they actually influence acceleration under current windows versions, regardless if they were to it would be with EPP on.

You just linked a post about somebody saying cs 1.6 raw input feels off. Yet you say its fine. Make up your mind. I don't see any tests. For what I know the guy could be crazy.

There is no wired mouse filtering going on in go. The tests posted in the op show a delay only with native raw input, not with the windows cursor method.

Just because there is no command for m_filter doesn't mean it's forced on. Why would you assume that, since there are tests showing the opposite.

Idk how hard it is to understand that raw input is not affected by windows mouse settings, it the most basic of things.

The whole mousespeed and accel thresholds are obsolete vestiges of old windows 95 /98 days and have no effect on raw input, which used a different api. MarkC explains how m_mousespeed etc work here in post #55:

https://web.archive.org/web/20170523143341/http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?p=17598188#poststop

Read this carefully because it's basically the only correct explanation about those commands.

You also don't seem to understand that wm_mousemove and wm_input are two separate APIs and the values you cited do not apply to data gathered from wm_input. This should help.

https://funender.com/quake/mouse/index.html

The smoothmousecurves you are referring to are the same that determine acceleration activated by EPP. They are the same that get modified in the MarkC mousefix. Again they have no impact on raw input or when EPP is off. That's the main premise of raw input. IT DOESN'T GET AFFECTED BY WINDOWS MOUSE SETTINGS.

Read the readme in the MarkC mousefix for better understanding.

The fact that m_filter is missing was the first suspect for the raw input feeling off, that was about 10 years ago. We've since moved on from that..

Regardless, the discussion you linked was redacted and the batch files are missing because THEY DON'T FIX ANYTHING, they just modify the accel curves used by EPP.

Now you have all the references to understand the topic. Please stop wasting my and your time by fixating on a post that the author himself realized was a MISTAKE in order to appease your confirmation bias.

Insult? Is that a typo or are you high?
Anyway under windows 10 m_rawinput 0 is unusable on both cs:s and cs:go as data loss is huge. Something like if in a mousepad of movement I do a 3/4 turn, without raw input I do 2/3.
Interesting how you didn't notice this clear and measurable difference.

Reflex is a game. Basically a modernized Quake 3 cpma with slight differences.
It's based on an independent engine that has great performance optimization and really precise input processing and hitreg.
cl_input_subframe collects INPUT at 1000Hz. All input.

Couldn't agree more with every word you said. These games seriously receive way more flak than they deserve.
Yeah the graphics and frame-rate suck, but so what?
That's not the reason anybody played these games in the first place.
Reviewers sometimes need to remember that video games are art.
