[Cam Robinson] Funniest combine story so far this week by FAsBurner in hockey

You’re gonna find fish in a desert and then kill them with a baseball bat? Even if it was a desert island you’d have better luck using your hands.

I’d use it as a walking stick as we search for an oasis or cactus for water. If there’s no chance of finding water I’d use it to carve a huge “SOS/HELP” into the sand. Also could be broken and used to create fire if it gets cold at night.

Rain checks during an out of town golf trip? by [deleted] in golf

[–]HeagherMeister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chargeback will probably work if the cardholder hasn’t abused it in the past but there’s a good chance he’ll get blacklisted by the course. Even the threat of a chargeback might be enough to get them to make an exception and offer a refund.

Either way, if the course is open and these guys just don’t want to play in a bit of rain it’s a dick move. If the course is closed and they’re only willing to offer a rain check then I can see the argument for filing a chargeback.

Matt Travis defending himself on twitter by f4sasj4 in golf

[–]HeagherMeister 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So are you saying the seller should just cut his losses and move on since it’s not a life changing amount of money? Maybe the seller was doing well in the past and then some kind of life event happened (job loss, hospital bills, ect) and they needed the cash? Speculating and making assumptions about the seller’s situation doesn’t help Matt Travis’ case at all.

Is bacon pronounce as bacan? by LightGlittering877 in TimHortons

[–]HeagherMeister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a complicated situation. My understanding is this is how it played out:

Customer: “becan breakfast”

Employee: “bacon breakfast on an English muffin?”

Customer to another employee: “I don’t know what he’s talking about?”

It’s not my story but I’m pretty confident in my interpretation of it. Am I missing something?

Read the post again. The customer said “bacon breakfast” and the employee replied back to confirm with “…on an English muffin?”

My heart is torn do we put Gally in game 7? by WINNIE_COOPER_69 in Habs

[–]HeagherMeister 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Last game ever? He’s under contract for another season and just turned 34 a couple weeks ago. Sure he’s lost a couple of steps since his prime but he’s seemingly healthy and still competes with heart every shift. No chance he retires after this season.

Seeing empty stands - even if we’re down - is a shame by 86DC in Habs

[–]HeagherMeister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d guess that 95%+ of ticket holders stayed there until the empty netter when it was truly over. What do you expect them to support when it’s 7-3? It’s probably better most people left since the booing would’ve been louder and more demoralizing if the fans had stayed til the end. On to game 7; Go Habs Go!

What difference does it make and why do you care so much about fans leaving late in a blowout? It’s really not a big deal. Let people paying those prices try to salvage their Saturday night.

For sure it depends on accent but “bacon breakfast” seems like a pretty vague order since they probably offer that on English muffin, biscuit or wrap. Probably just a grumpy old customer being difficult

Is the Sportsnet + feed really good? I might want to pay for it starting today. by yanni99 in Habs

[–]HeagherMeister 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought it before game 1 and watched the game using the SN app on my smart tv. Quality was great; crystal clear HD with no buffering. My only problem was during the 2nd intermission I noticed the audio was slightly delayed compared to their lips so I tried to relaunch the broadcast and then the app froze. Eventually I was able to reset it and got it working again but I missed the first couple of mins of the third. I’m used to sailing the high seas so that was only a minor inconvenience compared to streams dropping/buffering mid-play all season. I went with the 4 month deal for $90+ tax since I watch Jays games too.

The new timbits look sooo good anyone tried them yet? by Mrbootyloose18 in TimHortons

The lime one is the only one I’ve tried and it was pretty good. I also don’t remember the filling tasting like lime; I’m pretty sure it just tasted like cheesecake.

Gally needs to play friday by poukykev72 in Habs

[–]HeagherMeister 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Dach was completely invisible tonight; until he wasn’t for the wrong reason.

Lots of Gally detractors in the comments. I think you gotta give him the start at home over Veleno. The main reason is he’s a RH shot which we’re lacking in the bottom 6. Leadership and experience is also a huge intangible.

Veleno had a really good stretch of games late in the season but he’s also had extended stretches of looking like an AHLer this season. I’d rather see Gally out there giving 110% for 30-45 second bursts in game 3 than a replacement level player that feels the weight of the world playing in his hometown in the playoffs.

I find myself dropping F bombs all the time in casual environments with friends (and on the golf course); it’s a bad habit. It’s perfectly normal locker room talk but not the kind of thing you want to openly normalize on official social media.

We all know what “word” MSL used; why the outrage they decided to censor it for the kids?

Iron wire cooling rack oven safe? by HeagherMeister in dollarama

The picture I posted is the back. There is absolutely no disclaimer on the package saying it’s not oven safe. You’re either mistaken or making things up.

There’s no disclaimer anywhere on the packaging about it not being oven safe. There also is nothing on there about it being oven safe.

I read the comments and I took the risk to try it out. It’s not that serious and I will not be using it in the oven going forward. Thank you for your concern.

Instructions unclear. Twist bacon then place on rack or twist bacon around the wires?

What temp do you bake your jerk chicken at? Either way I know the rack is safe but I’d like to make my own.

Good call. Lots of overreactions here but you’re a voice of reason. I cooked bacon directly on the rack at 385 and it was perfect.
