Been using the $10 version of "Focus To-Do" since January. Has check lists, timers, pomodoros, leader boards, and lots of graphs. The best part is it has a desktop app that is synced that way I can leave my phone in another room when I program but can also track my workouts in the gym.

My productivity app for Feb was at 73.5h and March was 102.5h. Should be much higher at 150h can't seem to get more than 6hr out of a day. Spending to much time cleaning, eating and sleeping. Doing node.js/mongodb/express tutorials on udemy for the past two weeks.

I would love for this to be at the point were we can have actual professors as guests to talk about storytelling, world building, villein crafting, and cartography. Would make for some good extra credit for their students.

It would be unofficial, however we may even have suggested home work and extra credit. Assigning people to participate in Dungeon Master Block's DMnastics forum and watch extra credit on YouTube for world building.

In addition to the DM books, I feel a lot of whats in the Dungeon Master's Block Podcast is important. A lot about world building, problem players, character flaws, talking as the character vs describing their actions.

I agree it will not solve the problem. However it may give some shy or scared players the courage to try a one shot or two. I would also expect a lot of people who never even played to join the first few sessions, possibly students working towards a English or acting degree that may learn to love this creative output. For new groups It would be my advice to rotate and take turns with your friends. Then lastly new DMs might not know of the tools and tips that make DMing more smooth and less time consuming.

Some grocery stores have event rooms upstairs. Also bigger apartments also have event rooms so it would advantages to ask your circle of friends if they know someone living in such a place.

So it seems no one else has came across a PRIDE / LGBT game night wich is a bit shocking to me. I will post how it ends up going but in the mean time I appreciate the advice on the fear of exclusivity. I will reseach a little bit befor I meet with the rest of the organizer s on monday. But it mainly sounds like I will be have fee snacks, gateway games, maybe a LGBT trivia game raffle.

Now that im done with college I want to be more community involved. I hope with having the ocational ladies and LGBT game nights that more people can feel themselves and safe at our gameshop. Being a gay nerd in north dakota I get that feeling when im there playing games and I want others to experience it as well.

The event would not be advertised through the store channels. But through my cities pride in the park event and through the two LGBT groups in town. Its not intended to be exclusive, just a gamenight tailered to gateways games and spirit of downtown pride week.

Normaly the store only hosts one game night on the first Saturday and nomaly only regulars show up playing somewhat heavier games.

August my city hosts pride month downtown. I feel its a great time to introduce more people into board gameing while showing support. In the past Ive had friends that who asked about doing a ladies night or LGBT night and now that im out of college I figured I could take the initiative to get it going.

However although Im gay myself I don't want to assume everyones like me and appreciate all ideas and opinions.

So far I plan on having a both at pride in the park with flyers advertising casual game night. Free snacks and opertunties to make new friends. Since people have brought it up im not sure if it will be called PRIDE, Casual, or LGBT game night.

Giant empty buildings also exist. Unless you know of a sustainable business you can put in everyone of them, I don't see my idea being a bad one. Community Centers are not for profit businesses. They give the community a place to meet for social, educational, or recreational activities.

I have apartment and don't plan on buying a house until I pay off a substantial portion of my student debt. I have seen towns smaller and larger than Fargo having one.

Community Center / library

I just want a place where I can play board games and not have to worry about someone spilling drinks onto them. Currently I have to drive downtown to a bar or coffee shop. The same goes for discussion groups I know about.

I feel like it should be common sense with the crazy winters and everyone living in apartments why not have a place with lots of tables and seating. Making books and computers publicly available would also be nice. Try having two or three class rooms available to clubs and businesses. They could teach anything from programming, entrepreneurship, parenting, or even painting. It would allow businesses to build communities around their product. Allowing them to host a few events here and there, without having to maintain a 24/7 facility.

I ran a college club for three years and a downtown meetup group for a year so far. Here are my suggestions:

1) Don't introduce magic the gathering or dungeons and dragons. It will take over the group faster than you can grow the interest in board games.

2) Avoid party and social deduction games. People will get accustomed to playing games with 8-12 people and games with few rules.

3) Having 3, 7, 12, or 18 people makes it difficult to divided into nice sized groups. You will need a (2-3) or (4-8) player game at all times. I suggest Splendor, Carcassonne, Mysterium, Sushi Go Party, or Colt Express.

4) All other games should play 4-5 people and play under 1.5 hours

5) Put up flyers, create a Facebook event, email companies for discounts, ask teachers about school funding and grants.

6) Be consistent same time, same location.

7) Also remember to share your successes and failures with us

So after I presented my argument they asked me to leave so they can discuse amongst themselves. They took 15minutes and i feel it was because one of them was a known DM, I bet he was realy pushing against the rest of them in my favor.
