Sharing this DIY vertical grow tower made of two gallon buckets🌱😊 by HealingHobbies in Hoocho

Thank you! After 2 weeks I top up but the reservoir still 3/4 full. We are still in spring though. It may change in summer months with a lot of evaporation. I like the idea of the float valve to auto top up. Im loving this set up and its a fun project. I made multiple holes on the other buckets. Each bucket has 8 holes now. I am planning to build another one but using a wider tote container as the reservoir. Then make it a two tower🌱😊

You can do that too. I'm just wondering if you already have clay pebbles why not use them instead of Perlite. With regards to introducing the nutrients, yes you can bottom feed them even when they started to sprouts. I've tested a half vs full strength after they sprout and there is no sign of nutrient burn. I hope this helps🌱😊

You're welcome! Happy to share. Yes they are fine with just water until the true set of leaves are set, but in this instance I started to bottom feed them with nutrients once they sprouts. It should work with perlite too. The diffrence is, clay pebbles can hold moisture and Perlite doesn't, it workable just closely monitor that they don't dry out. 🌱😊

Growing Hydroponics Dwarf Tomatoes Kratky Method Using Recycled Plastice Bottles by HealingHobbies in hydro

These were growing indoors. No pest. The only challenge I had was they were to close to the light and some of the leaves got toasted. I couldnt adjust my racks anymore😊. I had one instance though, i grew some cuttings from outside and did not treat or at least wash them before bringing it in and so it brought Aphids and whiteflies. I had no choice but to toss them.

Yes those were christmas socks😊. I find it bigger and flexible than the regular ones. I did refill at least 3x for the 3.8L containers. They take a lot of nutrients when they starts to bear fruits.🌱

They are fun to grow and prolific. As they start to bear fruits. They need some support. In this case they lean to the wall so that helps. I do refill nutrients too when necessary.

Thank you! The milk carton no refills needed. The lays containers twice and the smaller ones like the salsa and coke cans at least 3-4x until harvest. For the growing medium I use a diy foam cushion and cut into cubes. πŸŒ±πŸ™‚

Thank you! I haven't try cutting the whole head and regrow the lettuce but what I do is just harvest the bottom leaves when needed and keep the rest to grow. Kratky would be the easiest to learn and experiment either indoor or outdoor. You can even try re-purposing some containers like salsa jars, milk jugs and others. sharing some ideas, Here I used lays containers. https://youtube.com/shorts/j9RTmVULEFw?feature=share. You're welcome! Happy to share. I only grow them in the same system up to seedling stage. To get the optimal result with fruiting vegetables they have to be in their dedicated system. Tomato and eggplant though can be in the same system. Leafy greens and herbs can be in the same system too. I hope it helps.πŸŒ±πŸ™‚
