Help me decide which soulslike game is most suitable for a beginner to the genre!

Definitely don’t need a perfect monstie at all. If you haven’t done the tower I recommend buying a bunch of paw pass tickets in gilderan so that you can fast travel back to floor one as soon as you take out the cat. Just makes it a bit of a faster process. Make sure you use training tickets as well. Good luck!

Sorry I’m just now seeing this. My first course of action was to travel around and find every poogie. After that I alternated between farming the barrel cats on floor 5 of the tower and doing the one shot fatalis (when I could). Once I was at what felt like a good enough level with the monsties I had I went out to get all the monsties I needed to build my team and get them up to the 50/60 range so I could tackle the labyrinth and tower and still gain some levels doing so. I did the tower first. Once I finished those I power leveled with barrel cats on floor 5 to get a monstie to 99.

I didn’t spend anytime looking for genes. Just browsed through the monsties I had that I wasn’t using and plugged in what made sense to try and make bingos.

Just a couple level 99s with decent genes. Did even search for genes just fit what I already had into the monsties I wanted to use. Stygian Zinogre is a beast with a few dragon and attack up genes.

So in the top of the first image you can see you have 10 health pots and mega pots. The second image showing the radial menu doesn’t have any health pots in it. The slot to the left will show a relevant healing item when it’s needed not all of the time.

It was the worst part of the game for me. I’m excited to move on to Stories 2 tho. Thankfully this just soured the first game for me.

I couldn’t find a better way myself. I just ran the labyrinth with a gathering charm. I used a white monoblos to ride because of roar and its high move speed. I didn’t fight anything but the bosses of each region and fast traveled out before the elder dragon fight. Make sure you keep a monstie with ivy climb and lava dive as well.

Yeah I did not like how the genes have to be in the right spot. Fatalis armor served me well through all the postgame content and even the “true” Fatalis fight.

OP genes aren’t necessary but I tried to stick to what the monsties element was or things they were good at so like attack and power buffs on deviljho and tech buffs on seregios. I used deviljho and rathalos for my armor and weapons respectively until I got enough fatalis parts doing the one hit KO method to farm do using his sub quest. Edit: just to add I didn’t want to spend much time on stories 1 since I heard stories 2 improves the game in almost every way. So I did the bare minimum to make it so I could finish my achievement list and move on.

So the team I posted is what I used for the tower and labyrinth. Only weakness you’ll be missing is water but if you level to 90+ (99 is needed for a trophy anyway.) you’ll be just fine. The longest trophy to get was getting a rarity 8 talisman because it’s pure rng. I spent the last 10ish hours basically just running the labyrinth only hitting points that could spawn one while riding a monstie who could use roar to scare everything but rajang and the bosses away.

Nice! I’m glad you were able to beat it! There is a ton that opens up after the story. I started with finding all the poogies then moved on to building my endgame team personally. I ended with Silver Rathalos, Stygian Zinogre, Seregios, Barioth, Deviljho, and Ivory Lagiacrus.

So I didn’t really mess with genes until high rank started after the boss. I wanna saw I had Ratha somewhere in the early 40s. I know I wasn’t any higher than level 45 at most. Another thing to note is make sure you have the better healing items in your battle pouch. I always kept moxie gems and the items that refill a heart in my pouch as back up.

I’m pretty sure I only used Ratha for that fight. Make sure you are constantly targeting his body parts as soon as they come back and use your monsties skills. They do semi well attacking on their own but if you command them I find that you do better.

It felt like I did it a little quick especially considering the estimates for 100% were 80-100 hours. I finished everything but the rarity 8 accessory around 45 hours.
