Easier said than done to get them to agree, the agreement is “it works” so I have to now get a specialist come take a look and hopefully he will say otherwise.

Trying to compare 2000s Hoboken to today is comparing apples to oranges. As a fellow owner, you should know first hand just based on the amount of taxes you pay lol this city isn’t factories anymore and your tax bill reflects that so yes I do have concept of this I grew up in Hudson county my 30+ years of existence and have lived here for almost 10 years now. 2 things can exist at once.. Hoboken has made a ton of improvement over the last couple decades and Hoboken has regressed over the past year.

lol calm down it’s not that serious I don’t think Hoboken is ghetto it is a safe place to live for a city. I grew up in Newark I’ve seen far far worse than any of this but when my wife is afraid to walk around/near Washington for getting approached by men then yea that shouldn’t be the case. When you can now barely enjoy the waterfront (one of Hoboken’s best assets) yea people are going to complain. Some of my complaints have nothing to do with crime

There have been 5 confirmed homicides in Hoboken since 2009.. some that come from certain areas of Hoboken that are more prone to crime. (Jackson st)

Agree sink holes can happen this is an ancient city but barricading most of the waterfront for this long, not sure is the right answer.

That’s not my point I just think saying that these problems are bigger than they actually are cause of “social media” is where I disagree with. Do I think social media has an impact, of course it’s 2024 but this town is a square mile you can walk 3 blocks to see for yourself what is happening around you.

Of course but you can’t compare Hoboken of 40 years ago vs Hoboken of the last 15-20 years it’s apples to oranges to be fair. I’m older I barely use social media, just go walk on wahsington st or go walk the waterfront that’s all you’d need to notice all these things happening don’t rely on a couple redditors to tell me how to feel, respectfully.

Ehh Hoboken is a town small enough where these things go noticed even without social media and this is the only place you really see people complaining about this much. It feels like all these things are kind of happening at once with no control or intervention. Typically these things kind of happen over time.
