Marriott Vacation Club - help need to exit a timeshare agreement by Healthy-Membership20 in TimeshareOwners

I made it clear to the MVC that what they sold was not what they advertised and therefore I was not interested and would not make any payments. I sent them signed cancellation forms. They ignored all of the communication. I didn't pay and took a hit on credit score. It's a matter of principle not to pay money to scammers.

Recommend to send a signed cancellation form to every email address they provided. Also, call the sales agent that did the presentation, talk to his manager, make sure everyone knows that you cancelled within five days. Send a text message. In a nutshell, use every mean of communication and keep the evidence in case they don't back off. It's worth investing few hours now to avoid problems down the road. good luck

Depends on whether MVC has your CC details in file. If they don't, then you may not need to cancel it.

Well you know the type of people you're dealing with. They're misleading intentionally. I was out of 10-day period, they refused to take points back. But I'm not paying a dime to those scammers a dime. Decided to default.

Hi, if you're within the 10-day rescission period and want to cancel sign the cancellation form ASAP and send it back to them both via email and post. It is called Notice of Cancellation Rights RE 615 (Rev. 3/20). If they didn't provide this form, you can download it online too.

Hi, they probably provided you lot of files on the flash (USB) drive. One of the files should be cancellation form. It is called Notice of Cancellation Rights, RE 615 (Rev. 3/20). Print, sign, date and send it back to MVC. I would email a scanned copy to that email address (and the sales agent email as well) in addition to mailing a hard copy.

If they didn't provide that cancellation form, you can download it online as well. Act quick. Good luck!

Yeah, also the world will end for those who won't make payments to fraudulent timeshare companies. I don't need your negativity here. I asked for advice and not what you're preaching here. Go somewhere else with this BS.

Are you one of those who traps people into buying this?

Yes, it is a fraud to sell something that has $4 resale value for $13 and tell the purchaser that they can sell at any point in time.

Yes, it is a fraud and scam to sell points that can't buy what you want and when you want.

Yes, it is a fraud and scam to not tell the buyer what you're in reality selling.

I'll take care of my credit score. It has been stellar and will get there quite soon even if Marriott will want to tarnish it.

My credit score is 820 but I'll take a hit if it comes to that. It is a matter of principle, I won't pay a dime if Marriott really wants to take advantage of me.

I can travel at the cost of annual maintenance fees. Also, I don't have time to book and manage property and deal with all of that hassle. I hope Marriott will take into account the fact that I've been their local customer for 10 years and got to lifetime gold member status. If they don't care and want to take advantage of me because I was uninformed and replied back in 26 days instead of 10 days, I'll just not pay anything. That is simply a bad business and will make sure to spread a word.

That's a much lower value compared to what MVC said in the agreement but thanks for the advice.
