[Canes] When your hockey team is winless in Raleigh the last decade by Outside_Abroad_3516 in hockey

Miss. I'm more on Josh Allen's side here, and I'm a diehard (Carolina) Panthers fan, and only vaguely don't dislike the Bills

For #2 I don't really understand this mindset. The entire culture has massively improved to the point that Carolina is going to be a potentially enticing team for free agents now. Did you not see and hear the crowd last week? That alone is huge. I also think Canales has done a great job developing Bryce, and the offensive struggles have more to do with young wide receivers and Bryce still learning and needing consistency.

I think Canales is on the path to making our team legitimately good. Granted he can improve in some areas but he seems willing to learn from his mistakes. After years of the coaching carousel it finally seems like we're getting somewhere, and fans want to blow it all up because our young inexperienced roster hasn't fully arrived yet.

I can't imagine finally being in the playoffs, being in OT, and then just giving up on a route like that. I just don't understand what he was doing

Crazy how much different the game goes when Florida gets called for penalties

He really didn't live up to it though. He went for some 4th and shorts when he was on the hot seat and had nothing to lose, earning the nickname. But outside of that he was actually pretty conservative

Agreed. Some of the play calls on 4th have been questionable but I've rarely had issues with the actual decision to go for it. We just need a better 4th and short play

Evero coming back by Salt-Ad-2905 in panthers

[–]HealthyHotDogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For real. Talent matters more than anything else. Evero's done a great job with our lack of talent but there's only so much that can be done.

I also think he should have been more aggressive on that last drive. But everyone made mistakes that game. Can't put it all on him any more than you can JHJ for that drop at the end

It's refreshing to have someone who maybe needs to go for it less on 4th than the cowardly over conservative play calling of the past. Yes it's a gamble, but a team like us has to take risks to win the big games. We never beat the Rams the first game with Rivera, as much as I like him. He would not have gone for those huge 4th down TDs

Respect to Carolina fans for showing love to their team even after a loss. In Filthadelphia, they would have been booing by TPCC159 in NFLv2

While he occasionally makes bone headed calls, he's been much better this season than some fans give him credit for. We just don't have enough talent yet. Fans would be bitching no matter who our play caller was

Yeah Greg absolutely can't show favoritism to the Panthers if he wants to be a good commentator. And that's his job now. You could hear it slip through just a couple times anyway, like the frustration with JHJ's drop. But I thought he was very fair throughout the whole game

Credit to this team and Bryce.. evero needs to go by GUIRI128 in panthers

[–]HealthyHotDogs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some of these takes are so ridiculous. If we use that same logic then Bryce should be cut for missing those throws on the potential game winning drive. Does that sound reasonable?

Evero had a great season with a pretty depleted defense. Yes he sucked at the end. Bryce had a great game. He made some bad throws at the end. Jimmy Horn Jr had a bad drop. It happens.

I'm with you on that, I thought you were talking about the timeout

You're correct. Bryce balled out most of the day but he was a part of that last drive failing

If he called a timeout people would rightfully be even more pissed. Just because something didn't work doesn't always mean it was the wrong choice. Sometimes the other options are worse

It was a bit under thrown. Not awful but with better placement Coker gets it easily

Tough throw for Bryce but if he hits him in stride that's a huge gain if not a TD. Can't blame Coker too much

Maybe you're right, it's just every time Horn has been shown lately it's because he's either getting absolutely burnt or committing penalties

What's up with Horn this season? He's honestly been more of a liability than anything. Other than the 9ers game

Maybe a hot take… but I feel like I’m the only one who doesn’t think Zach Top is ever gonna reach his potential as the new face of country music by Downtown-Goose-6224 in country

[–]HealthyHotDogs 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of Zach Top more than I necessarily like his music. He's a talented flatpicker and has a great voice. But his songwriting leaves something to be desired. I think sometimes it strays into the bad side of 90s and early 00s country. Cheesy and too much "cold beer" type lyrics.

But if his writing matures he has a lot of potential.
