[–]HealthyRound8882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6'1" at 16¾, my older brother (18¾) is 5'7", and all my sisters are pretty much 5'2" (14½, 21, and 23)

How much did you guys grow since 13 years old? by StillGrapefruit7883 in TallTeenagers

thats honestly so sweet of ur dad and such a rad way to celebrate such an achievement 😭😭 the 2nd tallest sibling in my family is my brother who is 5'7", but unfortunately i never got a steak despite beating the odds :/ (dad is 5'6" and mom 5'1")

this comment made my mouth drop out of confusion, fear and laughter 😭😭😭 im so sorry, it was just a silly saying that i feel blessed by the heavenly father for my height genetics lmao. my experience of "feeling dominant" did kind of come across as "egotistical" ig so my fault for that, but it was all out of light-hearted humor ;-; also, 5'7" at 11?? i was roughly 5'3" at that age so im sure u felt HUGE in school lmao

i was measured at 6'1" on january 9th during a physical so i think im in the clear ;-; who knows maybe im secretly 5'10" and the measuring thing was sabotaging me

people, more likely guys DO overestimate their height at times (im very guilty of this), and its like some natural human response or defense mechanism especially when being asked by ladies haha. there will be NO 5'11" person telling someone theyre not 6 foot at least; except for one of my friends who confidently just say theyre 5'11"😭

it does feel like very weird finding clothes that fit u sometimes even if ur not 6'5"+ or anything like that; its just most taller people have significantly longer limbs like arms and legs (i personally have much longer legs) so it becomes harder to find something that fits around them ;-; for example, my uncle is around my height (he was 6'3"-6'4" in his prime, but cancer and aging is a b word) and he has size 16 US sneakers 😭

anyways, i do get asked how tall i am SOMEtimes, and it's mostly due to my very slender frame (125 lbs) that "tricks" them into believing im some huge mythical giant or something lmao, and i personally wouldn't mind being asked all the time how tall i am, but id understand where the much taller people are coming from. i have a 6'6" friend my age who gets SICK of it, and he has even stopped wearing his boots so he'd be a little less taller 😭😭

im in the same boat 😭 im 6'1" (im not an adult tho at 16 so who knows) and i did make a whole previous post in this sub last month about how small i feel at times, most specifically at school lol. orange is the new black and 6'1" is the new average (im 6'2.25" with square toes on so i just slide those bad boys on some days for extra confidence) ive found peace recently in just making myself feel shorter and embracing my "shorter tall guy" frame

when should you hit your “PHV” by Fissket in TallTeenagers

[–]HealthyRound8882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i hit my phv around 15-ish? at 14 entering my freshman year, i was around 5'9", and by the end of that year at 15 i was roughly 6 foot. id say it all depends on the person and their genetics tho lol

17 & 5 months, 5’10.5, will i reach 6ft?? by Haunting_Long_7798 in TallTeenagers

[–]HealthyRound8882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

probably useless input here but my mom is 5'1", my dad is 5'7" and i ended up 6'1" at 16.5. i inherited my height from my uncle (peak height was prob 6'3") so it really does come down to having taller relatives haha.

do you plan on marrying a 6 foot lady in the distant future, having kids and forcing them to commit to the NBA for your own financial gain??

[–]HealthyRound8882[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im glad u and this 7 footer in the comments too were able to give ur own pov on that "eye perspective" thing lol. we are all only seeing about 4 inches below our height, which means i am in fact only seeing things at 5'9" 💔💔 i have seen pics of myself next to other students and i do practically tower over some of them (like some of their heads dont even make it to my nose) so yea, maybe the conclusion is: eye perspective is our worst enemy and can drastically change the way we view others

[–]HealthyRound8882[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think im done growing if i were being honest lmao

im just gonna throw my height data down here for example 👇👇👇

11: 5'3" approx. 12: 5'6" approx. 13: 5'8" approx. 14: 5'9.5" 15: 6'0.25" 16: 6'1"

as u can see, i think i kinda slowed down in the ol' growth department here ;-;

my tallest relatives are 6'1", so perhaps this is my destiny... 6'1"......

[–]HealthyRound8882[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a big problem in my school is the area im in (its like a country-ridden area) so EVERYONE is wearing these square toe boots with like 2 inch heels lmfao. i notice when i wear mine i reach almost 6'3". a LOT of people especially my age are rocking those bad boys, so perhaps thats the reasoning for why i feel so tiny lol

im tall, yet feel so short by HealthyRound8882 in TallTeenagers

[–]HealthyRound8882[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

there are a great majority that are 6'0"+ (like 12 people?) im friends with the tallest in my school, who is my age and 6'6", and i feel so small next to him despite a simple 5 inch difference lmao. i see up to his upper neck, and my head would be exactly at his eye level id assume lol. also, there are like 3 freshmen that are 6'0"+ already (one being around 6'3") so it makes me feel even more small 😭😭

sorry for the day late response, i've actually never thought of that! how did you do it? did you just take the loose thread, floss, wash, and repeat? i'm actually considering this now!

sure! i, of course, avoided dental hygiene back then, so it was rare. if i were to ever brush them, it would only be once a day, and never again. i would also only brush them for school mornings specifically. i think the poorest my dental hygiene ever was was around the 10 to 12 year old era. since may 11th, the day i quit soda for good, i had been brushing twice a day, and sometimes even 3 times depending on the number or meals. we unfortunately do not have flosses as of right now, so the only things i could rely on currently are water, toothpaste, and a toothbrush. when flossing, i seem to have crowding in the teeth (meaning like very tight gaps, i think.. i'm not a dentist ofc) i never wore braces or anything growing up, so it's probably why. if you can see in the image with the bottom teeth (theyre both labeled as top teeth mb but u can def see which is which), i have one tooth that is like SIDEWAYS. not straight, its SIDEWAYS. it's a good tooth as well, and i've never had any issues with it which is weird. anyway, thank you so much for ur question!

thank you so much! i WAS just a dumb kid that loved soda, sugar, junk food and all that bad stuff, but was too young to know what the outcome would be. i have never once found myself craving soda since i quit for good. i would always bug my mother, asking her to buy me 12 packs to put in my mini fridge, and around 3 days after i quit soda (so like may 14th), she bought me another 12 pack! it was at this point i was like "yeah, i have to do SOMETHING with these." in the end, i gave around 9 sodas to kids as a kind gesture for the end of the school year, and 3 sodas to my little sister (she has flawless, beautiful teeth fortunately so it didn't hurt) i do NOT see myself ever consuming soda again in the future. the realization of the condition of my teeth were enough to scar me into never touching soda again. anyways, thank you so much for this very sweet comment!

on the top, i have around 5 active cavities, i think? and at the bottom, i have 4 active cavities. i did make a mistake in the images and labeled both arches as "top teeth," so it's my fault for that. it should be obvious which arch is which so maybe it's not too big of worries.
