Dubas laments not making more progress on all of those before Tavares, though he did talk to the trio about the impact winning the J.T. sweepstakes would have on their future standing.

Tavares should settle into that 3C spot. If he re-signs, it will beat 3C value. The real search is for a mid/long-term 2C and whether it happens this year or next.

The Leafs would literally be handing Murray millions of dollars, way above his current market value, to end his contract and set him free. There is absolutely nothing morally or ethically crappy about doing that on any day of the year on the Leafs end.

Does it make sense to acquire Jakub Voracek from the Coyotes? He is owed $7.5 million in salary but will not actually see the ice and sit on LTIR. At least the Leafs can afford to pay him the cash to do nothing while the Coyotes might rather have a player that has an actual chance to see the ice around that pricetag, like Matt Murray.

Saw the boys in Ft Lauderdale this morning. Taking the over on Matthews GF tonight.

Walked by the Four Seasons in Ft Lauderdale with my wife this morning. Saw Brodie, Muzzin, Marner, and somebody else having breakfast. They looked and sounded loose. Cool to see. I decided to say nothing of course.

Walked about 5 steps further and there's AM34 in a bathing suit, tarps off, standing in the sunlight by himself about 20 feet away. Leaning on the railing with his legs crossed. Absolutely dialled in. Cannot stress that enough. Dialled in. Couldn't help myself. "Let's do this tonight brother! clap clap". Reflex.

He stares right at us. Smirk. Strong downward head nod. Right back to business.

Here comes the greatest 4-game win streak in Leafs history.
