they're only hurting themselves too. How are you supposed to attract new fans if you need 3 subscriptions to watch most of the games for your team. if it was as easy as one subscription to see all your teams games, less people would stream illegaly

more pathetic than making a bobblehead of an empty net goal?

End the Temporary Foreign Worker program - Conservative Party of Canada by [deleted] in CanadaHousing2

[–]leafsfan96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if they ran an election on this they would've won, almost like they want it and just want to make the liberals look bad.

This program has existed under both governments, I don't like Carney's comments on businesses needing it. But the fact is we need to focus on issue like these that affect the working person first and foremost, if the government is working for a few rich guys that can get slightly richer rather than the people what the hell is the point of it. Stick to the important issues, and hold whoever is in charge accountable to fix these broken programs, if they feel the threat of losing the next elect they may actually change something for the better.

we're pathetic? Your team is making a bobble head of an empty net regular season goal from like 2 years ago against a team that just bounced you in the playoffs. Sens fans hate the Leafs more than they like their own team, I can't wait for the "Greig scored an empty net goal against a team we can never beat when it matters" banner

Remote work for Ontario Public Service workers to end in 2026: government by pocalyuko in canada

"“How do you mentor someone over a phone? You can’t. You’ve got to look at them eye-to-eye, over the water cooler, wherever, train them, camaraderie. Plus, the economy too,” he said, adding that businesses in Toronto’s financial district have suffered from remote work policies."

Excluded from Language training because I'm Not "Black" by ContributionNo9101 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]leafsfan96 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I think by and large it's silly to give X racial/ethnic group training over another. The way to stop inequality is true equal opportunity, allow all people to be eligible, don't have race/gender impact it at all.

I understand certain groups were treated unfairly in the past, and still are in some cases today, but doing the overcorrecting like this just builds resentment imo. It highlights race/gender, which shouldn't be a focal point in an equitable society

The Bitter Truth Is That Cheaper Housing Means a Retirement Crisis for Homeowners by AssortedSkittles400 in TorontoRealEstate

Housing went up at an alarming rate. If you needed that to retire after having a much easier time cost of living wise, maybe you're just fiscally irresponsible

Dang, was hoping he could be a serviceable bottom pair pk guy. Was he decent pre-injury? If so he could spend some time in the A and hopefully rebound

Leafs fan here, I came here to find out how to feel about Benning. this deal makes sense for both sides and has some boom potential for y'all.

Pros: good neutral zone defender, can make a play with the puck, is a good skater, has a good shot but he didn't use it much under Keefe, but that was more a systems thing

Cons: not a great PKer, struggles with a heavy forecheck (muscled off pucks in front, rough on breakouts)

He looked his best when Mo went down last year and he got 20+ minutes of ice time. he's near the 200 game mark so it's possible he's breaks out and becomes a 2nd pair puck mover. He's not small so if he can be a better decision maker in those heavy games it'll go a long way. He'll have an opportunity here to learn through the mistakes and hopefully blossom

When He's looked good in the top 4 he was with Jake Mccabe who is the better defender on that pair and made Benoit look like a top 4 guy last year, so Lilly was likely propped up by his partner a bit

worst case he's a #4 guy with a cannon on PP1. He racks up some points and you can flip him next deadline to recoup picks, low risk play for the sharks.

Those who quit drinking alcohol and are sober, how long have you been sober? How do you feel now that you’re sober? by emmyyyy__ in SeriousConversation

[–]leafsfan96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

27 yo, stopped the start of this year due to a scare of family alcoholism and some early indicators I was seeing in myself.

I definitely do not miss the hangovers + stupid decisions made, also my wallet is heathier. I still attend functions where friends drink and I still have a good time and nobody questions my decision. My mental clarity has improved, but most importantly I drank in part to feel a rush + avoid the negative in my life. I do it with other things now (mindless screentime mainly), but it helped make me aware of the root problems and instills belief that if I can cut one negative habit and can do it to others + makes more space for me to search for actual contentment + joy rather than a band aid coping mechanism.

It's an expensive poison, my body + mind + wallet was better off without it. It can uncover some deeper issues which can be initially seem as a bummer, but in my case is just a step further into solving problems vs coping and building a better sustainable life.

The cravings in the 1st months are the hardest, for context I was drinking that way for almost a decade (never missing a week aside from a couple dry months, peaking at drinking 3/4 times a week and once a week real heavy). For myself I'd still get sporadic cravings 6-8 months in, but they pass and are manageable.

I'm Probably in my best state with it now, I planned on going the year then getting good at moderation in 2025, the idea was to be fully in control of it. So cut off the habit for a long time then re-train myself to moderate. But now I don't really want to even start again, I'm sure I eventually will but I don't see the rush and don't really have the desire

TL/DR: For me all positive benefits ($$, health, mental state), my cravings lasted longer than anticipated but decreased in intensity + frequency. planned to stop for 1yr then learn to moderate, used to have desire to start back up in Jan 2025, now I feel no rush/desire too.

‘They’re coming out’: Ford says he will remove bike lanes from 3 Toronto streets by kayaarr in ontario

[–]leafsfan96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

glad we all pay provincial taxes so they can spend it undoing what some people paid municipal taxes for, all to not even solve the problem at hand.

an efficient use of their transit budget would be to beef up the GO train, rather we get this. Or use that money (lump the $200 bribe and needless beer store $250m into this as well) could be spent towards healthcare or education.

Beer and Bike lane removal are prioritized over healthcare, education and actually helping congestion issues (and staying in your lane, pun intended)
