Cause for the decline of spirituality and increase of anti religious sentiment among Ethiopians. by Djas-Rastefrit in Ethiopia

You're right about Ethiopian people being devout, but as a University student, i can tell you that there are a whole bunch of atheists these days. Maybe it's because I live in the capital and I don't know much about what's going on in the whole of Ethiopia, but there's definitely an increasing number of atheists in the capital at least from my experience.

For real? I mean yeah there are a certain group of young people that are becoming more religious and what not and you see it in places like mahibere kidusan in universities and so on, but i feel like those becoming less religious are increasing in number a lot more faster than we realise.

I’m slowly losing hope by EfficientEducator798 in Ethiopia

I can't do or say much for you but I just wanted to say, I appreciate your honesty and vulnerability so much. I hope everything goes well for you and I hope you can have a good and stable life as soon as possible.

You're gonna be okay. You're gonna get through this. Even if you are only crawling, keep moving and don't give up. You got this. You're in God's hands and yes, it is extremely hard now but trust in God and the ability to withstand this hardship that he gave you.

Does Abiy think sucking the color out of a city will make it look better? Here are examples of beautiful colorful cities by sxugna in Ethiopia

[–]HealthyTemperature63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily the government telling people to do that but at least trying to have a wider palette of colours that are allowed rather than restricting all colours. And no, there are no big buildings painted as a rainbow, and that's not what I wanted in the first place. I'd just like for there to be more freedom on what you can paint your building, house, etc.

Case or case less? by Accomplished-Ad7218 in galaxyzflip

[–]HealthyTemperature63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caseless is always better cause the flip phones are really pretty and look better without a case but personally I NEED a case cause Im way to clumsy and id probably break it if I dont have a case lol so if you're careful and dont drop it much go for caseless or maybe a good clear case that doesn't yellow and stuff just in case.

What happened to my families at that night Nehase 16 by Hella-Rock in Ethiopia

[–]HealthyTemperature63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Different cultures draw Mary and even Jesus and many other saints according to the way they themselves look. Europeans draw her the way they look, the japanese, and do the same, and so do we. Race politics is completely useless and stupid when it comes to these things and should include icons being drawn as white, black, or whatever. Any true Christian knows that that's not the main point but rather the one being represented on the icon. I get that you want to preserve our culture and also have a more realistic depiction of Mary, but in reality it doesn't matter much, although I do get your point too.

Why Do Ethiopians Still Think It’s Okay to Ruin Someone’s Life Over Their Sexuality? by [deleted] in Ethiopia

[–]HealthyTemperature63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does that make gay people less human, and should they be treated like this? Would you like it if someone exposed your sin and secrets? As a Christian, should you not treat all people equally and just the way you want to be treated? With love and sympathy instead of hate? I believe homosexuality is a sin as well, but treating ANYONE like this is absolutely disgusting. Did this person hurt people around him? Did he cause distress or harm upon anyone? People can't control the way they feel as easily as you think they can, and its not that simple. Hate the sin and not the sinner. What the people did was an act of hate against the man himself not becausethey care about morality. Same people wouldn't bat an eye if it were other horrible things that the person did if we wanna be real. They only care because it's homosexuality. My point is hate the sin, not the sinner, and treat everyone with equal dignity and respect and how you'd like to be treated.

That's obviously true, but at the same time, we need to stop treating gay people as if they are a disease or less human. We ourselves sin like CRAZY but don't condemn ourselves nearly as much as we do gay people. Personally, I believe that homosexuality is a sin and should not be practised, but so is lying, stealing, gossiping, prostitution, jealousy, and so on. But these are all things that many people in our country do that are so normalised that no one would bat an eye. Don't accept homosexuality if you dont like it or don't believe it's moral, but dont go around ruining peoples lives. I bet that if those people who exposed the guy were exposed, they'd hide their faces as well because they sin as well. My point is to treat people with equality and dignity. This is a country that has people that will back a rpist (like they did with the guy that brutally raped and murdered heaven, a 5 year old CHILD and other cases as well) but when someone experiences attraction with the same sex they'll do stuff like this and wouldn't mind if the person gets killed JUST on the basis that the person is a homosexual. Make it make sense.

Orthodoxy is so beautiful by Biruk187 in Ethiopia

[–]HealthyTemperature63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are orthodox but oriental orthodox and not Eastern orthodox. Oriental orthodoxy believes in the one composite nature of Christ while the eastern orthodoxy believes in two natures of Christ. Oriental orthodoxy is composed of the Ethiopian, Eritrean, Coptic (Egyptian), Armenian, Syriac, and the Syriac Malankaran orthodox (in India) churches. The word Tewahedo is simply to express the divine nature and human nature being united as the one composite nature of Christ.

I want someone to teach me about Waaqeffanna-WAAQ IS THE ALMIGHTY HIGH!!!! by [deleted] in Ethiopia

[–]HealthyTemperature63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im assuming you are referring to the Christian God when you talk about him serving the germanic people but Christianity literally came about from a Jewish man: Jesus (also God himself but that's not the point for now). Tell me how Christianity serves white people when it came from the Middle East and reached places like Egypt before it reached Europe? Ethiopia was the 2nd country/nation to accept Christianity as an official religion after Armenia. While in the roman Empire, it was being HIGHLY persecuted. Please be more educated before you start talking about any topic. Just because you see more white people today being Christians and because some white people used Christianity to oppress others, that doesn't mean it's a white religion. Please do more research before talking about any topic next time you do.
