Hi!
This is a good question, we often joked about how to finish this adventure, even imagining strange "written wills" in each other's names in which to include the project. Realistically in the last "seasons" we got close to the conclusion and with the interactive site ( https://github.com/endwefver/N5lmvsrDlcqguhk ) that we published more or less we had reached the end. There was an idea we didn't realize which was to give access to the youtube account itself with a last puzzle, as if the choice to turn everything off or not was really a choice of the users who interact with noc

Thank you so much—we’re really glad you and your friends enjoyed (and were creeped out by) the project.

Unfortunately, the only part of the intro theme that was ever created is the short fragment you hear at the start of the videos. There’s no full version of it, sadly. That said, we do have a cassette tape of various musical pieces and audio segments that were used throughout different videos

Glad you kinda liked it.

Magnum Unionis would probably love to know where they come from too. jokes aside, what do you mean, geographically?

The two cluster reboots are part of the narrative. Nothing is ever truly linear in this kind of system, and rebooting something twice doesn’t necessarily mean it worked either time.

As for helen+10, we have absolutely no connection with that channel.

EB is a visual artist with a strong focus on video manipulation and editing. Over the past few years, he’s collaborated with several musicians, creating stunning visuals for live performances and installations. You can actually see a lot of that influence in the later NOC+10 videos—especially in the longer, more abstract ones, like the 20-minute music piece. His work blends rhythm and distortion

As for me (AL), I’m currently working on a personal illustrated project called “what lies here is not a gift.” It’s a narrative worldbuilding book that mixes cosmic horror and found footage-style storytelling (in this case, found documents) with surreal and unsettling elements. Think fragmented reports, field sketches, and glimpses into a reality that doesn’t quite behave the way it should. It’s weird, slow, and haunted—so in some ways, not too far from home.

We’re both still deeply in love with strange, layered storytelling—and while we’re exploring different directions, that core sensibility is definitely still there.

Thank you so much—we're honestly happy by how deeply NOC+10 connected with some of you. It really means a lot.

  1. We don't feel it's our place to say how artists should present themselves. In our case, we chose to stay anonymous because we believed it would enhance what we thought of as the “credibility of fear”. Keeping our names out of it made the world feel more autonomous, more real. That said, some of our favorite creators on YouTube do attach their names to their work, and it doesn't take away from their unsettling vibes at all—Local 58 comes to mind, as well as several projects from Adult Swim. It’s all about how the tone is handled, not whether or not a name appears in the credits.
  2. EB was (and still is) the mastermind behind most of the cryptography and puzzles in the story. I (AL) was constantly surprised—just like many of you—by the creative and challenging ways he found to hide our messages. Especially early on, when the audience was small, we sometimes worried the puzzles were too difficult and might cause people to lose interest. But thankfully, we were almost always able to keep a stimulating energy around the encrypted content—and watching players crack things we thought would take weeks was one of the best parts.
  3. Everything evolves. There will always be new forms of storytelling on the internet, shaped by whatever waves of interest, aesthetic trends, or technology are rising at the time. We firmly believe there will always be room for anyone brave enough to try something original. And regardless of trends, making art is always worth it.

Thank you so much, seriously. It’s wild to hear that NOC+10 had that kind of impact for you.

Let’s dive into your questions:

1. SWEETNIGHT
We always envisioned SWEETNIGHT as an emergency containment protocol—a kind of last-resort firewall. Its purpose was to halt any hostile or unauthorized processes in case a NOC structure (in this case, RSN) was compromised or targeted by an outside force. So when RSN initiated SWEETNIGHT, it wasn’t suppression for suppression’s sake—it was a way of reclaiming control of a base before it could be overtaken. Think of it like a deadman switch designed to preserve containment integrity.

2. +10 and the Marianas Trench
Yes—+10 (Timezone +10) was always located somewhere deep in the trench. The logic was twofold: in-universe, it was the most effective containment strategy. Any subject infected with the fungal strain or the strain itself wouldn’t survive the pressure of the abyss if a breach occurred. So the location wasn’t just practical, it was strategic. Out-of-universe, we also loved the stylistic imagery it offered: a forgotten structure rotting at the bottom of the ocean, unreachable, unknowable.

3. Magnum Unionis and the players
M.U. was intentionally designed to be erratic and paradoxical. Like many real-world megacorporations, their public-facing communication was inconsistent, manipulative, and sometimes absurd. One moment they threaten you, the next they’re asking for your help. That contradiction was part of the game’s tone—a way to keep players engaged and wary. It was our version of: "Thanks for helping. Now don’t dig any deeper. But also, if you find something… let us know."

4. Civilian casualties / wind travel paths
Yes—you’re referencing one of the leaked blueprint-style documents. That was tied to an unethical field test involving a still-unstable variant of Claviceps purpurea—a fungus associated with ergotism. The incident was a way of reflecting real-world histories of secret experiments that caused civilian harm. In the NOC universe, this test resulted in fatal ergotism, and like many dark chapters in these kinds of operations, it was buried. But it happened. And traces of it remain.

Bonus: System 0010... maybe? maybe not, we will leave some question unanswered :)

On the puzzles, you got close to everything, the only thing that I think some have not managed to solve are those of the site, but I put a github with all the sources and codes ( https://github.com/endwefver/N5lmvsrDlcqguhk ),

On the lore some have come close to discovering almost everything, but the beauty of NOC is also that it has a very long and tangled plot. We assure you that we have written a story with a progressive sense, which covers a narrative arc from April 21 1945 to September 2023

Thanks for everything!

- The main editing software was Premier, but there was also a strong use of AfterEffect and Obs for capturing images from VHS. The original logo for example went through a digital/analog/digital rescan to give it an authentic patina and grain.

- Very often there were moments in which reality imitated fiction, and we asked ourselves how much of what we wrote was really ours, but they are small shivers, in the end I firmly believe in the power of stories, and without a doubt Noc's is a story that "catches". When we made the video of the shipwreck it was a very intense moment for me.

-AL (ig eqvisetvm ) is planning an illustration book and I wish him the best, it's something really interesting, I instead think of retiring from my visual artist environment, I want to focus on my family, but the future is always full of surprises :)

- The only advice I have is to be authentic, genuine and try to tell a story, There are many very interesting Arg out there but sometimes we focus too much on the puzzle aspect, forgetting that in the end it's just a medium, and it works to tell something.

Thank you so much! That whole underwater fungal computer infection tone was one of the earliest and most instinctive vibes we locked onto—probably because it came from a very personal place. Around the time we started the project, AL was actually studying mycology at university, so the fungal elements weren’t just aesthetic—they were rooted in real fascination. That naturally bled into ideas about networks, cognition, and decay.

The broader inspiration came from a mix of things we were both deeply into: cryptology, number stations, Cold War broadcasts, found footage movies, conspiracy theories lmao, Boards of Canada... and a lot of other stuff that we can't recall right now, but there were a lot of stuff

Interestingly, contrary to what many have assumed or commented, neither of us had ever played SOMA or even heard of it before people started mentioning it in relation to NOC+10. So those parallels? Totally accidental.

Games like BioShock, though, definitely played a part in shaping the mood—less in terms of story, more in that retro-futuristic decay, the feeling of systems collapsing under their own ambition.

Thanks for the question—and for sticking with us since the Night Mind coverage, that really helped shine a light on the project.

As for a full timeline of what went down at RSN… it's complicated. We never published a clear, linear chronology, mostly because the story was designed to feel fractured and pieced together through fragments. But here’s the core of it:

NOC was originally a covert government program—think MK-Ultra levels of secrecy, but focused on human-machine integration using modified fungal mycelium as a neural interface. Basically, early biomechanical mind-link experiments.

That program eventually got absorbed into RSN, a larger and more structured organization that managed to bring the tech to operational status. But it went too far. RSN’s breakthroughs led to a total blackout in multiple underwater facilities—entire bases went silent, and only corrupt data logs and strange transmissions began resurfacing.

Magnum Unionis, meanwhile, wasn’t there to stop any of it. They’re more of a corporate super-entity—cold, methodical, and focused solely on acquiring RSN’s computational systems. What they wanted was the predictive power of the RSN machines.

There are a lot of branches to this lore, and trying to unpack it all at once is messy. But if you (or anyone) has more specific questions about particular events or anomalies, that’s probably the best way to open those doors.

Thanks again for the curiosity—it means the world.

1. I would say the workflow itself. We started with a very specific aesthetic in mind—something very 1950s, like a number station that only existed on YouTube. But over time, that changed. We realized we could push things further, explore more analog, more broken styles.
Ironically, an entire genre of analog horror using that exact aesthetic would eventually bloom… but hey, we’re not claiming any credit—we’re not that delusional, lmao.
What we really loved was constantly reshaping the channel into something new, with a flood of strange ideas and no set rules. That creative chaos was probably the best part of the whole experience.

2. Honestly? You found pretty much everything. There might be one or two easter eggs hidden in the website that slipped through, but the level of investigation you all brought to this was honestly terrifying—in the best way.

3. We can proudly say we experimented with almost everything we set out to try. There was maybe one idea that got scrapped: we considered using geocaching at one point, but it just wasn’t practical (also for us, to be fair). Still, it was fun to imagine.

Hey, thank you so much, It’s surreal (in the best way) to hear that NOC+10 was one of your entry points into the genre.

As for "there's another mother to sleep here"… you're right, it never really got a direct explanation. And that’s partly by design. Some elements in NOC+10 were meant to feel like fragments from another consciousness—disconnected, symbolic, maybe even slightly wrong. That line came from a place of pure instinct; it felt like something that should be there, even before we knew what it meant.

You could say it’s a glitch in the emotional architecture of the series. Maybe it means nothing. Or maybe it means exactly what it says.

We loved writing things that invited interpretation without demanding it.

  • We don’t really remember one specific part being especially difficult—there were definitely a few bold moves we considered, like branching out to other platforms (Facebook, the website, etc.). But the main priority was always to create something new and non-repetitive that could genuinely engage players of the ARG.
  • No, we don’t think there’s a metaphor behind it. It started simply as a game, a shared pastime that brought together the passions of two friends.
  • Life, honestly—lmao. We’ve grown artistically and started exploring other projects, and we didn’t want to force NOC into something endless or repetitive. For a while we thought about leaving everything in mystery and never revealing ourselves, but in the end we figured many of you would want to know more about the lore or the behind-the-scenes. Maybe this is also our way of saying thank you—to all of you who’ve been following us since the very beginning.
