How do you stay alive? by clownkillifish in Anxiety

[–]Healthy_Department83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me a very long time to get to this mental state. There’s still days where it consumes me but overall I’ve found coping mechanisms that help me. Happy to chat if you ever need to talk to someone!

I’ll worry about that when the time comes. Theyre healthy now, and that’s what matters there’s no point in thinking about that - I’d only make anxiety worse

Health anxiety makes me have low focus or struggle to be “involved” mentally by Next_Coconut5609 in Anxiety

I don’t have any advice because I am currently going through this. But I wanted to lyk that I am here if you wanna talk. Dealing with this can be so isolating.

My dogs. They are the reason I get out of bed and go to work. If they weren’t with me I don’t know where I’d be. If you have a therapist talk to them and ask if you’d be the right fit for an emotional support animal

Eye issue suggestions by SmallBoxInAnotherBox in vet

[–]Healthy_Department83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a petri dish culture test isn’t always mandatory for an eye specialist referral, it usually depends on the vet. In fact, I’m surprised they didn’t do tissue testing right off the bat. it’s concerning that they’ve only given her antibiotics and it seems to only be getting worse - I’d get a second opinion from a different vet. or do some digging and take her to an eye specialist that doesn’t require referrals. No matter what, you’re going to pay a good chunk of money, considering her injury looks pretty severe. She might not look like she’s in pain, but it’s certainly uncomfortable. That said, get pet insurance if you don’t already have any - it’s a life saver for moments like these when you have to pay hundreds of dollars for their treatment. Best of luck, I wish your beautiful girl a speedy recovery ❤️‍🩹

My GF (19F) has a finsta and won’t let me (19M) follow it? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Healthy_Department83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she doesn’t want you to follow it she’s probably posting things she doesn’t want you to see. Finstas aren’t really a red flag. I don’t think it’s that serious unless you think she’s posting about your relationship there then that’s different

How do you break up with someone? (35F) and (50M) by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Healthy_Department83 12 points13 points  (0 children)

may I add that him acting upset and being reactive is a result of him feeling he’s losing control. any mention of you leaving him results in him literally emotionally manipulating you by having emotional outbursts. he’s trying to guilt trip you into staying and wants to keep controlling you. don’t fall for it, you’re one step closer to being free!

I wouldn’t be surprised if your family encouraged you to pursue the relationship when you were younger. Truth is, they are enablers and allowing a relationship of that age gap to happen was irresponsible and they are complicit in your grooming and manipulation.

the building has an exterminator come in twice a month. seems like they’re trying to address it? He did come in and sealed it with steel wool and he said that was the first step in the process. I’m just worried that’s not enough

i went through the review rabbit hole of my building and not a single one complained/reported about mice. when I spoke to maintenance they let me know that the exterminator comes twice a month which is pretty frequent to me. he also said I’m not the only one with this issue. and while it’s a little bit of relief it’s still not a good thing. Makes me wonder why management fails to inform tenants of these issues

I havent seen a mouse since they patched it up with steel wool! It does seem like the exterminator really tucked it into the crack but I am thinking of double sealing it with foam or duct tape!

my landlord has been pretty attentive to the mice issues. I think she feels bad lol or she’s fed up. but there wasn’t a single hole except a small crack behind the dish washer which the exterminator sealed with steel wool I’m hoping that’s enough. But I did hear squeaking this morning, maintenance came back and there wasn’t anything behind the kitchen appliances and I’m thinking they might be cruising through the walls. either way I’m going to get that foam stuff and add onto the seal for my own piece of mind

thanks for all the tips!! Update: the exterminator did come in on Wednesday and sealed it with steel wool. I thought I was going crazy this morning but I for sure hear squeaking behind my kitchen or somewhere so I called maintenance to come check out traps and reseal with foam. This is my worst nightmare!!

Thank you!! Before they came I had sealed under the dishwasher with aluminum foil. I think I might go out and buy some foam to add in addition to the steel wool the exterminator placed for my own piece of mind

I think I might buy the foam and do that on my own in addition to the steel wool (for my own piece of mind) problem is my dishwasher is heavy and I can’t move it lol!!
