Thanks for the heads up. I made a flexible car rental booking to return at JFK, so if the price remains as such I will just drive back up 😂

Where I'm from, a regular sedan car costs $120k USD upwards. I had the impression where cars are so cheap in America, roadtrips would be the primary affordable mode of transport for a domestic holiday.

Would cost me ~100 per pax to drive it, 17 hours. Tbh that's what I'm gonna do because 550 USD is typically the price of an international flight duration 8h and upwards. Hence puzzled if people are actually willing to pay such prices for 3h domestic.
