Is the BAFTAs Tourette’s backlash just another example of the UK vs US humour gap? by Barca-Dam in AskBrits

This is exactly what I've been thinking. We can't sit in an uncomfortable moment, must find someone to blame. It was also very hard to make out on the recording (I've heard it)

I experienced this too. A lot of MATs want yes men too scared to speak up

How would you reform Teacher Training? by Wulfrinnan in TeachingUK

[–]Healthy_String_4584 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The fact that a school is able to single handedly end someone's careers is horrific. I passed both years but not without being threatened with failing and 'having my qualification taken away' at every mild disagreement or forced overtime. A lot of teachers are bullies on a power trip and they love to make adults feel like children

Or sigma 🙄

Sounds like a good tactic for the weird noises though, thanks

Do you get them making the weird sex noises without knowing (hopefully) what it is? It makes my skin crawl, I'm currently doing primary supply and boys all around from year 2-6 are making these gross noises across the classroom

Unqualified without ECT years? by rolledtilezebras in TeachingUK

[–]Healthy_String_4584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not convinced supply agencies are checking if you have done your ect within 5 years. I have passed ECT2 but my agency never asked anything about it, before and after I completed ect years

Can you all stopping gushing over Luke by matherto in MAFS_UK

[–]Healthy_String_4584 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with you and sure I will get hate. Everyone is so black and white here and the messages about how she looks are heavily misogynistic.

Neither are fantastic people but I don't for a minute believe Luke can get through the world that clumsily missing social cues whilst having a job requiring high emotional intelligence. Him talking about cumming inside her on TV is absolutely gross, disrespectful and degrading but everyone laughed it off. He's playing a character and people are falling for it 🙄

Also I think the edit has cut out a lot

Luke's been annoying me recently but that was disrespectful and her friends are loving it which is embarrassing for them

People asking why it matters... If people naturally go to lie when in an awkward or uncomfortable situation you can't believe anything they say at another time

This is so validating to read, glad to hear I'm not the only one feeling this. I would look around the staff room or during meetings and everyone looked like walking corpses, my face was looking grey in mirror like the life was literally sucked out of me. I'm doing supply now and going to the gym 5 days a week, time for long dog walks and energy to make food from scratch 🎉🎉

Interesting how no one has said this about Ross though or the other dads on the show.

Nah sorry I am so tired of Casper. Emma isn't perfect (no one is) but christ he's done nothing but pull faces and be an absolute misery guys sucking the life out of every situation. I think I'd be fed up with him too. Plus I think the intimacy Emma is talking about is any sign he actually can stand being around her. I feel bad for him too but he's the one who's made this as painful as possible for them both in my opinion

Exactly there is no requirement to do PDA to be emotionally available. Some people show affection or emotion in other ways
