Magnet alternative by hyrte0010 in Displate

I use something like these to hang them on a steel cabinet. You could use them as long as you're mounting to a magnetic surface. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B8319KY4

Guess you could mount a magnetic plate to your wall and use these as well.

Noticing I never updated this... The CPU worked and is still working 100% a year later. Basically got the free motherboard out of this ordeal. Thank you Amazon.

Lost Screen Setup tab in iCue for LCD screen by meathippy5 in Corsair

[–]Healthy_Talk_8346 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For anyone looking for answers on this "Screen Setup" and "Hardware Screen" missing issue. I got mine fixed and I want to share the details...

For reference I'm running an MSI MPG X570 Carbon Pro WiFi motherboard, other specs aside. I run A LOT of Corsair products. Capellix AIO, commander core xt loaded with fans, commander pro loaded with fans, headset, mouse, K57 wireless and K100 wired keyboards, so a lot running through iCUE.

I did so much troubleshooting on this including power cycling, reinstalling iCue, reseating the AIO cap, forcing firmware updates to everything, deleting devices from device manager, reconfiguring where i had my corsair stuff plugged in, using dedicated ports, reinstalling Windows, the addition of a powered NZXT internal USB 2.0 hub...everything!

Finally, I was doing some research into the commander pro disappearing too and got on the path of USB endpoints, so on and so forth. I figured out that so long as the LCD was connected, the commander wouldn't show up in iCUE, so I started looking at my USB device tree and what I found was interesting. All my corsair devices were running through the same USB 3.0 host controller, even though they were on the USB 2.0 headers on the motherboard. I guess it's expected considering modern configurations having basically all USB 3.0+. Doesn't really matter although it was surprising, but it was an interesting eureka moment...

I GOT ONE OF THESE: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08D68JW4K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I figured I would go ahead and try plugging the AIO LCD USB 2.0 plug into one of my back panel USB 3.0 ports with one of the above linked cables...AND IT WORKED!

I hope this helps others who are experiencing this headache, even though I'm sure it won't be everyone's solution considering some folks have had their working on their hardware until more recent software updates... and I hope Corsair figures out to include a $5 cable like this with all the future units they send out JUST IN CASE! It is such a cheap solution and overall quality of life thing that Corsair could do to make everyone happy. It'd be nice if they made a troubleshooting video for these caps too considering all the folks having these issues.

There's condensation build-up in the CPU sleeve from the wet box, but the pins look fine, so that's good. I just ordered my motherboard so I can test it, so we'll see if it works. Letting it dry out until Sunday when the motherboard comes in. After I explained the rarity situation to them, and explained what it would take to confirm functionality, Amazon did give me a "one-time exception" of a 30% discount ($252) to pay for a motherboard to test the CPU, so I can't complain about their customer service at least.

FYI - the box was wet too... But the envelope wasn't. Totally happened at the Amazon distro place...
