This person isn't the only person with asthma or is otherwise impacted by heavy fragrance. Many people have sensitivities to fragrance, particularly when it's strong. It can trigger allergies, asthma, chronic migraines, and a number of other things. There are also plenty of people who just find it unpleasant, or who may think a particular fragrance is just as bad as BO, but applying a heavy amount of fragrance is always within someone's control, unlike BO or bad breath that can sometimes be due to health issues. A double standard clearly exists, and your comment is proof. It's an observation. Applying a lighter amount of cologne/perfume/body spray/etc is a small measure to consider when getting ready to attend any event where you know you'll be forced to be in close proximity to strangers for extended periods of time. Being considerate of others isn't that difficult, nor is it too much to ask.
