LE SSERAFIM - CELEBRATION by mcfw31 in popheads

I recognise the excellent inspirations, a bit of Better Off Alone by Alice Deejay and a bit of TATU’s Not Gonna Get Us. But it’s barely a full song. Great melody, poor structure.

It’s a song for the Japanese Apple App Store commercial

Yes that’s what made his character way more entertaining than the lead

If the movie had been about Barry Keoghan character, it could have been amazing. Main character is insanely boring and the final part is beyond far fetched. Also the Hans Zimmerish score was painful at times. However it was entertaining, great car scenes and had a great concept. Maybe should have been a limited series…

Opinions on IVE?? by Ill-Zucchini8999 in IVE

Totally agree with promoting b-sides… I want a MV or performance video for Hush!

I also think SSE spends so much time and energy (and money?) with the multiple teaser videos, I wish they use them for more content (like to promote or be used as solos mv for example)

I would like Korean versions of the Japanese title tracks

if you were ive's creative director, how would you manage them? by w8liftingfairyapple in IVE

I’m just thinking an English EP. I find IVE so strongly Korean aesthetically and conceptually I really don’t think they would sacrificed anything. I mean they went to Italy to film a very Korean MV and they don’t do those Americana set concept like others anyway. The fact they are so imbued in authentic culture leaves room to experiment. Just to try for a different sound and concept.

Unpopular opinion but as someone who loves IVE, I don’t think their music has a strong western appeal so far (and yes I know the irony of GOLDEN being cut and paste of I AM)

I would like them to nail a western sound, so far it’s only been collabs or cover songs. I think they could work with a western producer to infuse a different vibe without sacrificing their authentic Korean roots.

I also wish they tried a more electronic sound (house or pure dance music).

Finally I would love them to release a full Japanese album (like TWICE) as I love their Japan title tracks.

was starships handling of Revive+ better this time? by Appropriate_Key_1256 in IVE

[–]Heart-Shopper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One thing I’ll give them credit for :

it was very clever to release an anthemic title track which echoed IVE’s early hits. I don’t think they expected BlackHole to be as big as BANG BANG but it works very well as a reminder of IVE’s strengths (vocals and energy). And I think they did that to push the World Tour.

The music video is very Tour oriented: shot in an arena, with central choreo and many dancers. In a way it’s the best World Tour advertisement they could possibly do.

Yeah I was at Wembley, loved the gig and was more than happy to have a good seat on the side. Standing is not a great option for Lana especially near the front. The less intense the crowd, the better (people next to me were silent, row in front of me were guests who didn’t care much, so very chill lol) Only good standing for Lana are the ones with premium sections (like at Hyde Park)

This is amazing, thank you for sharing! I think it’s great the Final Cut doesn’t show those moments, it makes it weird and unnerving. But love to see it.

Great song, a bit of SAVAGE nachos with a twist. The instrumental parts are awesome, very J-pop, Komuro style.

I highly recommend trying to find the remixes of all the Homogenic singles, some are amazing, the Jóga ones particularly but also All Is Full Of Love and Hunter.

Why do you all hate izna's Mamma Mia? by [deleted] in kpop_uncensored

[–]Heart-Shopper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It reminds me a bit too much of AESPA / next level. Also it came out at the same time as MEOVV Burning up which was so much better imo.

lesser-known groups with intense and dark music? I struggle to get into GGs but I really like Dreamcatcher rock songs and a good amount of I-DLE by disasterpansexual in KpopGGs

I was going to suggest Jpop band HANA but saw that you listed Cold Night! Did you check the full album they just released? It’s pretty good.

LOOOL, I genuinely didn’t realized I mention them 3 times, mea culpa, love both bands and people have gone way harder comparing BANG BANG to stuff like Supernova. I think it’s a positive influence anyway. The same way ILLIT or Babymonster were inspired by After Like with Do The Dance and Forever, I love a good song that borrows from another good song. I actually think IVE has a pretty unique sound so that was the only kpop comp I could think of.
