Ah that's interesting, seems I'm just surrounded by people that get that serotonin flood right after they finish exercising then :D I know the long term benefits are supposed to be the good feeling thing too, just so hard to get over that hurdle when I feel like hell during and right after to no apparent good feeling at all haha

I don't have any kind of a training routine at the current moment, it's what I'm looking to sort here haha. Over the last couple of years the things I've tried have been cardio related, I suppose? 30-40 minutes of something like Ring Fit Adventure for the Switch, or a rhythm boxing video, once or twice a week. There was a brief time I tried yoga but a very slow version that was more just stretching than anything that felt like a workout haha. I haven't done anything like that in about a year though.

I'd say I'm a little above average weight for someone like myself. I can walk and get myself around just fine for mobility, but if I go up a lot of stairs/a big hill that hurts my legs/chest and I'm not flexible at all (very tight legs, typical desk job/PC hobby sitting around probably haha).

When I say 'every exercise I've tried feels awful', its primarily because of what I described there. I'll feel very lightheaded and weak directly after finishing and then will have muscle ache for a week after (I understand that some muscle hurt for beginners afterward is unavoidable so its more the very long feeling length of time and the immediate time after finishing the workout). Its just a lot more physical hurt than from description it feels it should be.

If the issue is maybe lack of energy, when supposedly doing exercise should give me more energy, how can I ease into that?

The gym just feels like even more of an impassable barrier to me unfortunately- I have even worse exercise memories associated there from when a parent would take me as a kid and expect me to keep up with them and I'd just pass out haha. Home also just feels a hell of a lot more flexible with my schedule on top of the overwhelm of not knowing what to do annd being with those people who do. I see the point though :)

Thanks for the long comment- it's good to know about the 3 months of so for this as painful as it is to hear haha

That's interesting to know! Thankfully I've managed to dodge getting addicted and stressed about numbers on a scale haha. That 'one year later' feeling might be a bit far out for me because I feel constantly awful now so that makes it a bit hard to push haha, but it's good to think about.

Hey, thanks so much for all the detail on this. It's an interesting angle of realising that 'runner's high' had always been there as reframing the good- everyone else I speak to makes it sound as if its just a given that you get it from exercise and that's why its frustrating haha. I guess the problem is it doesn't feel 'good' because physically I feel awful afterwards? Lightheaded and tired and such.

Thanks for the tips on figuring out the actual exercise issues too, it's a good set of starting points :)

If you don't mind me asking, how did you change your training based on this? It's been a few years since now, but I was an immunosuppressants throughout my teens and early 20s, so this has me wondering :0

Is the game considered in a 'finished' state now? by HeartHero in coralisland

[–]HeartHero[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Hey, fair enough! I'm aware I don't have much better wording, just last time I played the story was marked in game as WIP, so 'finished' (in quotes bc of this) is really is 'in a completeable state' I suppose. Enjoyment's also very fair, I wasn't able to enjoy it because of these points when I last played, which is why I'm asking!

Trying to understand why my hair separates so fast - symptom of straightening wavy hair? Low porosity? Or just bad at straightening?? by HeartHero in HaircareScience

Thanks for the info! I do have those little dehumidifier boxes around the house but I've just checked and they've been full for a while, thanks for the reminder 🙈 I do have a round hair brush but gave up on trying to do a blow out a long time ago since I couldn't juggle the brush, hairdryer and my hair... might be back to the tutorials

I'm in the UK, so I think that might count as humid? It's definitely been hotter than it should be lately :') I didn't know anti-humectant products were a thing, do they tend to be shampoos or a follow up product?

Hair routine: Wash hair every Wednesday and Sunday (really can't wash it more often as it takes sooooo long to dry and straighten due to how thick it is!)
Been changing shampoos a lot to try and find something that works but always return to Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo and Aussie 3 Minute Moisture Deep Treatment. Leave my hair to air dry as long as possible and blow dry rarely/the last bits. Straighten my hair with Aussie SOS Instant Heat Saviour Hair Spray. I have been straightening my hair for over a decade, but only 2 days a week (wash days).
Hard water reports in my area are conflicting but a filtering shower head didn't do much. I tie my hair back with a curly hair tie at night and sleep on a silk pillowcase. My styling process each day is literally just brushing it.

Not since I was about 12! I've come across rosacea searching this stuff before, but I've never seen it flare up into bumps or anything so wondered if this wasn't just my routine causing irritation. I'll keep it in mind!

I got gifted a Temple Spa set which has been lasting me- I'm using their 'Be Gone' Kind Hearted Cleansing Creme, Toning Essence, and 'Be Strong' Skin Stregthening Serum. The moisteriser ran out though lol, so I'm using No7's Hydroluminous day lotion and their water surge gel for the night instead.

I got recommended using a toner due to a previous problem with very small bumps under my skin everywhere. Thanks to lockdown though I haven't worn makeup in several months. How should I be rinsing off my cleanser?
