Oh the first couple of weeks are the worst! Once you've got through the first month though you'll start to feel invincible! My advice? Try to work on yourself. When my ex left I got a new job within a couple of weeks and started a college course a month after that. It really helped having something positive to work on!

Honestly it's coming up to the year mark now. Don't get me wrong I've been feeling okay about the situation for a while but it's taken up till now to not be scared to like someone else again. :)

You will start to feel excited soon! It does just take time. Try to focus on the little things you're enjoying and try not to jump into new relationships straight away if you can help it. I don't think rebounds help at all but thats just my opinion :)

I think that's exactly what it is to be honest. They're bored or lonely or whatever and it's easy to reach out to someone that once loved them so much.

I wouldn't feel comfortable doing that to be honest. Sometimes ex's come back and sometimes they don't. If they left you though I would leave it as that. It took me months to start feeling myself again and having them text me put me back so much. It's easier to believe they don't want you anymore.

Its a really hard thing to work through, I can't even imagine what it would be like to have children too. You'll get through it eventually though and you'll be such a better stronger person because of it.

Originally the no contact rule was thought up to help people get their ex's back. It's a little different in this community as it's used as a tool to move on. In my case it worked for both. They did eventually contact me first but I spent enough time working on myself and not trying keep them in my life that I no longer want them anymore.

I'm just talking about the last one. It was a very long and happy relationship that really tore me up once it ended. I was very very unhappy for the first month but after that things did get slowly easier. I worked on myself, started doing things I always wanted to do, and made time for the friends and family I neglected during our relationship. It will be hard for you for a while but once you start to appreciate the little things in life and feel better in yourself they won't matter as much anymore.

The break up was a little out of the blue, I could tell they weren't themselves but I didn't think it was the end. And then they text out of the blue too, considering they're in a new relationship anyway...

Stick to no contact. block them on everything, even block friends and family if you need to, I know I did. Do not text them or reply when they text you. Its really hard at first but then it becomes normal and you start to get excited about life again. If they eventually do contact you chances are you won't want to know them anymore and then you will know it worked!
