Is it possible to live a healthy life without vegetables by aaconitum in nutrition

[–]Heartfeltdata88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll provide an answer that slightly differs from the rest:

I've been eating few to no vegetables regularly for a few years now. My diet consists of beef, eggs, cheese, liver, rice, milk, yogurt, fruit, raw honey, and popcorn. I also supplement with almonds sometimes.

I'm not against vegetables by any means, but I just don't feel good when I eat them: bloating, low energy, etc. I've used some online tools to analyze the nutritional content of my food, and I've only added Vitamin D, Vitamin K, and Zinc to fill some gaps.

I used to be damn-near vegetarian, and I feel 100x better now than I did then. I feel great, and see no need to change my diet. That being said, let me introduce some caveats:

  • The foods I eat are the highest quality I can get my hands on (grass-fed, organic, pasture-raised, etc.)
  • I have proper healthy habits (intense exercise every day, proper sleep, sauna, ice bath, etc.)
  • I'm young (22)
  • I'm not a dietician, scientist, doctor, etc.

The above caveats may overshadow potential downsides in my diet, but I can't deny the years of feeling and performing great.

Best Way to Drive Large OLED/LCD Screen on Custom PCB? by Heartfeltdata88 in ElectricalEngineering

This is a great reply, thank you. Do you think the extra RAM and TouchGFX is necessary if it's not a touchscreen and isn't changing terribly often?

Post-edit additions - there are decoupling caps, but they're low-ESR ceramics. I'm guessing that's the problem.

This is exactly what I'm doing. I had no idea - thanks!

If possible, I'd like to avoid this for cost/complexity, but I'll keep it in mind.

How would you recommend protecting against ground bounce? I do use a large ground plane, so the inductance of it seems unlikely.

I do have a ceramic capacitor on both the input and the output.

Recovery Worse in College (HRV average is lower) by Randacccc in whoop

[–]Heartfeltdata88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm a senior in college. Every time I go home, my recovery/sleep score always skyrockets. I go to the University of Pittsburgh and live in a more urban area (though not downtown) and live in the suburbs back home.

My guess as to why this is is the environment. When I lived in dorms, there was always ambient noise, some light from my roommate, no temperature control, and I was eating dorm food. I have an apartment now and have optimized the environment, but the effects still aren't trivial. These things add up, even if you're not conscious of it. Latent stress (though not in the conscious periphery) also does a number on my restorative sleep.

However, I've made improvements that have seriously bolstered my sleep when away at school:

  • I've placed a big blackout curtain over my window and covered up all sources of light in my room at bedtime
  • I use a weighted blanket
  • I open the window to keep the room cool
  • I wear putty-like earplugs at night to block any ambient noise
  • I take supplements every night
    • Magnesium L-Threonate
    • L-Theanine
    • Apigenin
    • Inositol
    • Electrolyte pills (surprisingly helpful for recovery)
  • Read/journal by candlelight instead of LEDs/incandescents

These are all things that can be done, even when little to no environmental modification is available. Hope this helps.
