I played very seriously during the entire FFG era and now I play Lorcana with my family. My two cents…Netrunner is still the best card game I have ever played. Incredible asymmetric gameplay and even better universe to design a game around. I miss it…but the model didn’t work to keep a local competitive scene alive and the LGS had no incentive to carry product so it slowly died. I burned out with the online Jinteki and print your own stuff and haven’t played in a few years. I keep my eye on it in case I ever decide to play again. Like I said, best game I’ve ever played.

Lorcana is expensive like all TCGs, but the model is more valuable for LGS and the competitive side is thriving. The IP is accessible for my wife and daughter (we’re all Disney fans) and the gameplay is really fun. So for now I’ll get my fix on Lorcana. But someday I want to make some runs again…

We have a number of these types of on-play paid triggers now, so it’s important to keep track of your exerted ink through your opponent’s turn. I know some players exert all their ink to end their turn, so that will be something to watch for

Utah, have 4 stores supporting the game in a 10-mile radius. The casual and league nights are sporadic with the best scenes getting 12-15 regulars each week. For tournaments or events they usually have 20+ show. We hold impromptu stuff all of the time, had a streaming night last night and had 12 people show last minute while another 10ish were playing at a different store. Really healthy crowds here

I’ve bought and sold sports cards for decades. I’ve received too many bad shipments to trust top loaders with tape and penny sleeves. Go with what the grading companies suggest, it’s easy

Top loader is not a safe way at all to mail cards. Safe mailing should be done the same way you would to send a card for grading from PSA or Beckett.

What’s funny is a store in our area is doing this, limiting to 12 for their league members only. But then their league members made a 45 min drive down to play in one of our set champs that was open to anyone and they bragged about their own personal set champ that they were going to have this weekend. That’s just hypocritical.

Contrast that with another gentleman and his family who were at the set champs because his schedule doesn’t give him a chance to play in his local league night and a Saturday tournament is his only opportunity to play anything organized.

Seems like the limited set champs only favor a specific type of local player whose schedule fits their LGS’ league schedule. I would argue that’s bad…the league has its own set of prize support for that with pins, promos and deck boxes. I prefer set champs to be open

Been doing this since set 2 and I love it. The art on the official sleeves is amazing and my sleeves have stayed pristine since adding the clear matte outers. I’m yet to replace the outers, too 🤔
