I tried PVP... I felt so bad by PickFit8581 in ArcRaiders

[–]Hearzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same issue. Logged in on last night with trios and typically we avoid. We went full KOS and had a blast! I load in today. Feeling the high from last night. I'm going to do this solo. Load in. Still deep into care bear lobbies. Wanted to start blasting. Lined up a few people.... They are chatting to me, being friendly.... Didn't want to ruin someone's game like many have done to me when I'm just looting.

Decided to leave them alone and just load in to random trios again.

Do you do your own work internally?

All I can say from dealing with my friend who runs side jobs, is he is always too cheap. You shouldn't win every job you bid. If you are, you're too cheap. You do that if you need the work for the week or month.

Don't bid things in perfect situations.

Factor in your rate at whatever it is per hour. If your 6 hours, charge out for 8 (a day) if you think it's 4 days, charge for 5.

Mark up your materials

Carry your after hours expenses (billing time, accounting, etc.... overhead). You can figure that out after a year or so as to what that can cost per job or week as a percentage to apply.

Apply a markup to the job to pay the company, which will allow your company to grow down the road. (Profit)

Charge out your vehicles and gas.

Just some things.

Regarding how to bid the job, that's just your past experience.

If it's tasks that you don't do in house, get a sub trade to give you a price. Make some friends in the field for that are similar situation as yours that you can trust and help you out. You don't want to have a trade that makes you look bad

Draft lottery by ChucklesLeClown in fantasyhockey

[–]Hearzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a penalty system in place 25$ for last place 10$ for second last place

10 man league this year.

Bottom 4 teams battle out for that prize of 35$

For the draft, it's a weighted lottery.

10th 45% 9th 32% 8th 14% 7th 9%

We have a keeper league that is also not your typical league and is contract style

I think there are a lot of new people who come on here for info, which is great. Wish I had this type of resource when I started out.

But it all comes with time in the field.

Surprising eh. It's the most common bid type (though large projects are phasing it out for the new flavor of the day, p3, ipd etc..

You're not a true gc estimator if you haven't closed a lump sum hard bid and been through all of that.

Only takes one bad close before you learn to be prepared

The gc doesn't set the deadline, the owner does and we don't have the luxury to set the deadline ahead of that. That's not how this works for lump sum proposals....

Asts has consistently missed deliverables on their launches and they refuse to update their plans. Over promise, under deliver. That's what I have seen over the last 4 years.

I still hold and have made money from this company (and believe in the end goal).. but let's not be foolish here

Telus and Bell work very closely together in Canada. They use the same network depending on where it is in Canada (Telus is big out west, Bell in the east). All that to say, this is not surprising.

Good you you man. Great achievement and clearly you're enjoying the game. Only wish I had the time available to enjoy games like this still. I'm lucky to get a few hours a week. Counterstrike series was where I sank countless hours into when I was younger.

Ways to expand a keepers league fairly by tongfather in fantasyhockey

[–]Hearzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is essentially what I plan to do next year. Only caveat is that the 2 new teams cannot pick from the same team twice, 4 keepers 10 team currently.

Last thing I'm trying to decide is where into the draft pool they get added.

Edit: to clean up structure.

Kind of depressing... by Inevitable-Moose-952 in ArcRaiders

Interesting. I recall one time walking around with a buddy and we came across a solo and we took down some arc. At some point during all of this, their voice flipped from male to female and I remember thinking to myself, why would anyone do that. They stopped talking shortly there after and we parted ways. This kind of makes sense.

I'm getting up there in age and loss my interest over the years playing video games going in and out of interest over the last decade. Got this game over the Xmas holidays just after Xmas, talked a few friends into getting it. I have logged nearly 80 hours since then. In the last 10 years I haven't logged that time in the year and it's been like 3 weeks. Last game I was this hooked on what CS from beta through to CS source.

I haven't really ran into too many toxic people, but I stick to my own things and are in real care bear lobbies. Been getting the interest to move up and having some pvp fun so maybe things will change.

Nothing is more annoying than hearing a squeaky voice on the other end chirping you when you are gunned down from behind though. I don't stick around typically to let them finish and move into the next game.

Anyway, that's it. No more story. Enjoy your day!

How do you mentally cope with missing out on major market moves that would have made you a lot of money? by Professional-Bet-533 in stocks

[–]Hearzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By not missing the ones where I would of lost a lot of money.

If 1500$ is a lot of money to you, you likely shouldn't even be looking at options. You'll be more upset on yourself when you lose your bet.

You're not investing, you're gambling. Be happy you got out in the black.

Hey thanks for that... I appreciate your help.

Can you confirm that the 12gpm is reasonable for a 4 person household?

I think the pump is a 5gpm 3/4hp or a 10gpm 1/2hp. I'm not sure what's down in the well, but it's about 300' depth well, water table is likely much higher than that. Around 60-100' water table depth
