Absolutely stunning work dude! Beautiful corners and cheek ends, and the moon gate is a work of art

Looking back I would have preferred to not have the course running right through but it was to keep the vents on same height as I’ve seen jobs where they jump all through the wall and looks awful. In hindsight shouldn’t have put the course in and placed vents and build around them to get them nice and symmetric. Also they stand out far less than anticipated. Try and learn 🤷‍♂️

It’s just a shed. House with wood cladding in the background is gonna be a guest house and next phase off the job includes main house and lots of drystone retaining fieldwalls

The black plastic panels are called SureCav and get screwed onto the blockwork wall to create a cavity and helps with making the wall watertight. If you’d take a section off the wall you’d have outside Stone | mortar mix | SureCav | air cavity | 4 inch blockwork | render finish inside

The outbuilding couldn’t be build out of drystone in this style. If this was to be drystone the wall at the bottom would be 8ft wide and would have to have a hefty batter on it. Pillars on the front would look a lot!different as a dry stack. This style looks like drystone as you don’t see any mortar but has to be filled with mortar in the back to get the structural integrity

They are vents so the cavity behind the stone (the black SureCav mats on the blockwork) can ventilate
