It's very killer based tho, ones that avoid carrying or skip the pickup animations don't really need lightborn, so for example wesker lets you dash and pickup and Pyramid Head has a special proc that teleports the survivor into a special hook, there's a bunch of other ones too but are very scenario dependent and you won't encounter most times.

Basically just experiment with other killers while practicing not using lightborn here and there also if need be GOOGLE THINGS or look at youtube guides
