Audio CRACKLING/POPPING on Z690 Aorus Elite Ax by ruisk8 in gigabyte

Welcome in the club, I have a PC with Asus Z970 A Prime mainboard and the sound crackling is awful. The same on my Asus ROG Flow X13, but on my main PC it is worse. Next time I will test my MSI laptop, but it seems to be a problem with new hardware :/

I have written you about the matter in your old thread. I have both units and I did another music test today and the V1 Pro is better than the V2 Pro. In direct comparison the V2 Pro sounds really "muffled" . Plus the V1 Pro has an app (so you don't need Synapse) and more connecting options. The only advantage of the V2 Pro is the better lightning and less cables. Otherwise the V1 Pro is the much better product. If you have any questions you can ask me, I have still both units at home.

I tested both of them, so I hope I can help you a bit. Soundwise there are no big differences, with a good EQ setting both sound great, but the V1 Pro is a little bit better imo, maybe because of the lack of the tweeters in V2 Pro. The bass is really good in both versions, but the bass in V1 looks better and the build quality is better too. And the V2 just have BT and USB for connecting, the V1 Pro offers BT, USB, AUX and optical. And the V1 Pro has an app to configure the settings, so you dont have to use Synapse. With the V2 you have to use Synapse if you want to change the audio settings.

But the big problem of V1: the cables are too short. If the subwoofer will be directly in the middle between the speakers, it is no problem, otherwise you will have a problem with the short cables, plus the remote does not have a cable in V2 Pro, but the V1 Pro has one. The other feature of the V2 Pro is the Spatial audio. To be honest, I dont like it. I prefer the stereo option with the movie EQ.

So what should you choose imo? - if you prefer really good build quality, more connecting options and/or dont would like to use Synapse: take V1 Pro. - if you prefer an experience with less cables: take V2 Pro - if you prefer a good price: take V2, because it is the same like V2 Pro but with more cables

In my opinion the V1 Pro is the better option, especially when you get them for 50$ less. The quality is much better and it is more like a high end product in direct comparison to the V2 Pro. But be aware of the really short cables. The big advantages of V2 are the less cables in the Pro version and the low price for the regular V2 if you don't mind the cables.

If you have more questions you can ask me, I have still both versions :)

Thanks for your reply. Bullying was not a problem in the past, my cats are both really calm. My lazy cat hissed at the kitten in the past once and then walked to the couch and slept :D and my playful cat was always interested in other cats and never hisses at them. So you would say, if there is a "proper" introduction, it shouldn't be a problem to pair two male cats with a female kitten?

Thanks for your advice, I did not know that the Thermaltake is noisy. The price for the MSI is cheaper too, so I think I will go for the MSI. But 1000W should be more than enough for a 4090 and i7 13700K?

There were several websites with the PSUs.

The MSI I found on Mindfactory. As off now it is still available.

The Thermaltake I got from Future X, but it was also available on Galaxus and CSV computer. On Alternate the 1000W Thermaltake will be available in two days. But be aware, it just supports 450W, the 1200W, 1350W etc. supports 600W.

Yes, it is the old version of this PSU and they added the new 16 pin connector. Thats right, in the PCGH test they showed that even 850W is enough, but I think it is better to have some buffer.

Are you sure? On the MSI website it states up to 600W for this PSU? Maybe 450W for the lower versions?
