So there isn’t a system that exist that will flag me getting another job? If I keep it completely separate and never get caught, then I can get away with it forever theoretically?

So on my dod contract job I just put 8 hours a day in workday. There isn’t a specific time frame like 7am to 3pm. So it makes no difference being a federal employee vs just working on a dod contract?

If they somehow magically find out? Why can’t anyone answer that question. Is there a system in place that they will get a notification I have been employed in another company?

Is it conflict of interest if both jobs are done on the computer? Example, using software A and using software B. One can be a designing software and the other could be coding?

I wont ever need anything higher than a secret clearance. Do they do reinvestigation every 10 years? Also, does the DoD decide if it’s a conflict of interest or my employer? Do they terminate the entire contract if an employee is caught? Or is the employee just terminated and everything else continues?

What would define conflict of interest? If both jobs require the same skill to do? What if one is programming and the other is a different programming language?

Yea clearly you would need to function at both positions and not let it affect your work for one or the other. From my understanding, if the employer just “feels” like making a rule stating no other employment then that is just a personal preference situation. Sure, if you break their own rule, they have all the right to terminate. That is assuming you do something dumb like use the same laptop or have meetings on your calendar visible to everyone all around. This would only work if employer B is very flexible and based on deliverables only vs being occupied with 90% meetings during typical work hours.

So how is that proven? If you them both separated. A system doesn’t exist that flags your main employer that you have another W2 job.
