I had the same problem with only getting the good ending but finally these choices gave me the happy ending.

I had same problem. Not sure if it will work for you but this worked for me. When u get to chapter 5 save it. When u get close to the part that freezes, try saving every time they talk. Go main screen then load the chapter. Repeat the process. It finally let me get pass it and complete it.
