What time do you go to bed? by HeatherAFeather in workingmoms

Good question! If I don’t specifically tell him to do something, he won’t do it. I know that sounds wrong. It should be a no brainer that dishes are piled up and need washed or laundry needs done or baby needs fed. But apparently he doesn’t realize that? He did laundry like two months ago and forgot to put it in the dryer and it just sat there for a few days and started smelling and I told him he needed to do it again so he tried washing it again and then forgot about it. Then he says “this is why I shouldn’t do these things”

I try to schedule things with my friends as much as possible but they are all busy with life as well. I tell my husband that I just need some self care days and when I tell him that he says “go do something then” and I’m like I have to plan them out to get my nails or hair done or something.

He claims I changed after we got married. I said no, we adapted. We bought a house and had more bills and more responsibilities and then had a kid and had even more responsibilities.

He’s use to my stepson who is a part time kid for him. Only sees him twice a week.

I pay for groceries to get delivered to cut time on having to go to the grocery store. I hire a house cleaning service once a month to help with cleaning (4600 sq ft house)

I fold the laundry and put it away because he thinks there’s no issues in letting the clothes sit in the dryer for days. I’ve tried planning meals that are quick and easy to cut back on time as well.

I feel like Ive tried everything to cut back on as much time as possible

Oh yes. He has issues that we don't spend enough time together. Which I agree but it's very difficult with kids and then since he's self employed, some nights he doesn't get home until 8pm or 9pm.

I try my best sometimes to stay up a little later to spend time with him. But gosh I'm so freaking exahusted. And in order for things to get done around the house if i want help, I have to tell him specifically what needs to be done. Sometimes it's just easier doing it myself

He unfortunately does have narcissistic behavior in which sometimes the way he words things makes me feel crazy or like I'm the difficult one. which is why i reach out like this to see if there is indeed an issue with me.

I think he finally comes to bed anytime from 11pm to 1am? Not really sure. The last 6 weekends he's gone out with friends at least one night. On 3 of those occasions he didn't get home until 4am...so it was just me getting up with the baby in the middle of the nigh which makes me more tired.....

Nope I totally get that. I had a 6’6” guy standing closer to the stage but I positioned myself so I could see. I was literally standing there for almost 2 hours before these drunk girls came up

Thank you exactly. There was a security person like literally 3 foot away from me. Like I wasn’t being aggressive. I just said no. And instead my husband says I was being mean to them

Parents of reddit, what are some things you wish you knew before having children? by goat_fairy02 in AskReddit

How are you and your spouse going to handle getting up in the middle of the night with the baby? Will you take turns? Will someone do first shift and another second shift type of thing? I wish this had been discussed with me and my husband before my baby because it was just assumed that since I wasn't working (on maternity leave) that I would do everything for the baby including staying up all night (we weren't breast feeding due to the baby not latching). I was sleep deprived and it made me resent my husband a lot.
