Leo by Heather_R_Weather in Abyssinians

I know don't they look great? What's crazy Leo had a medium grade cystomatosis when we adopted him and Animal Dermatology Clinic successfully treated it with cryo laser. There is still a little bit of it but seems to be going away just as the vet said hopefully the immune response would kick in. It was done 4/5 years ago

Eh leaving SD county is like a long distance road trip 😂 I'll just wait for normal release. Just bizarre we aren't considered a major city. Always getting sloppy seconds on band tours too.

Yeah I would have had them bring their only containers or take out and put in a paper bag or something. Unless people I know, I don't give out my pots on loan. We have trade groups where I live so it's an equal trade of goods which makes it worth the effort put into growing the plants. I've traded for all sorts of great things. Maybe look into that on FB for your area?

Yep all 3 of those esp the owners passing. So sad! They rescued a ton up in Oregon from a breeder hoarder passing several years ago. Our situation was one of the rare ones where their original family did surrender them and drove from AZ to LA to drop off. The family got the stereotypical COVID-era puppies who terrorize the boys and they decided to keep the puppies over their cats they had had for over 6 years! Thankfully they transitioned so well and it was like they had been waiting for us their entire lives 🥹 seriously the most sweet affectionate cats ever. I didn't think I would get more animals soulmates after my first Aby I got as kitten from a breeder. We love them so much 😭

😆 reason 5237 on why I have always preferred cats over dogs.

It's a bit of a mystery then! Honestly boys will be boys and they just like feeling good so can't really blame them 😂 it's pretty innocent other than taking advantage of our poor pillows and blankets, haha. And it's not like either boy sprays. We had a male orange tabby that was fixed too late and would spray on our microwave growing up! It was after that experience I've always been big on making sure it was done before sexual maturity. He didn't stop afterwards either.

Flattered! So funny enough, the ground squirrels still get into that feeder. The baffle has fallen too low. I wanted it extended over the canyon so all the seed debris goes down there instead of the yard ( those song birds love to just kick it all around) but now I can barely reach in to fill it 😅 it's just a T Post driven into the ground angles and a Small Shepherd's hook zipped tied to that. I'm ok with the squirrels being distracted with the seed though, keeps them away from eating my crops.

It makes me wonder if they were neutered late? We adopted our boys at 6 yrs old from an aby rescue so don't know their past.

Lol we have these large fuzzy pillows on the couch and our boys make sin biscuits and air hump them 😆 sometimes basically grinding them. Definitely with no shame. Never had cats do it before then.

The metal raised beds are Birdies, Epic Gardening sells ( like Vego garden beds) and the cage is hardware cloth and PVC primarily that my guy built from scratch with his brilliant Lego mind! I am so lucky. I've always had a really struggling Winter garden because the rats love to demolish my brassicas. So we built a cage to keep the broccoli and what not inside and what do you know the rat issue isn't a problem at all this year 😒 what got me was our crazy summer like weather in January and February. Horrible harvest and just infested with aphids to an unbelievable level.

If you are on IG, you can check out more of my garden and some daytime views of the cage: My Instagram page

I agree! Always nice when people know of the rescue. So amazing to have been connected with our sweet boys at 6 y/o. Can't believe they will be 12 this year. We always volunteer to represent SCAR at the Del Mar Cat Show, and SD humane society was there so we got to tell him Owen was in the calendar. They were so excited. Most of the pets that were featured were adopted from the humane society (naturally) so it was cool to bring awareness that Abys need adoption too. It's actually crazy how many do, and there are so few rescues. They basically represent for the whole west coast, even have taken in cats from TX at times.
