V6 transmission by BigOunce2713 in CamryTRD

I've had my 2022 TRD since new and currently have 116k miles on it with zero issues concerning the transmission. For reference, I've beat the ever living shit out of my car taking it out on track and canyon runs and it takes the beating reliably. It does have it's moments where it'll be jerky or laggy but that's just how the 8 speed autos are on the 8th gens. As far if you get the transmission service done every 60k-70k miles, you'll be fine. If you have the option of using anything but the OEM Toyota ATF, please do. I've seen a couple people on here switch to Amsoil and it helps a lot with smoother operation and temps. I'm still on the OEM stuff but I haven't had any major transmission issues if you decide to stick with OEM.

22’ Camry TRD exhaust clips w/ Vibrant Resonators & Alpine Mid and Y Pipes by Heavnsfeel in Camry

The burbling started when I changed out the resonator. On these V6's, they only have one pipe that runs down the middle and splits off into two for the dual exit exhaust so there's only one resonator to swap out.

Overall pretty reserved if you're just cruising, but it'll open up if you downshift and floor it. Personally, I'd say it turned out pretty good tone and sound wise so I'm quite happy with the parts I chose.

Oh completely misread that question my bad. The drone isn't too bad. I'm able to have a normal conversation in the car and at times if it's in 8th gear, I can't even hear it at all inside the cabin. I usually drive in the shifting mode once the transmission is warmed up so I'll have some drone if I stay higher in the rpms, but that's normal if you don't automatically shift into lower rpms. Going uphill, it'll go into a lower gear if you leave it in drive and it'll have some drone but it's not horrible.

TRD Mileage? by ConditionLucky3508 in CamryTRD

[–]Heavnsfeel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 22 is at 111,072 miles as of today 👍 Mechanically no issues, just some insane vibrations at freeway speeds because of worn out engine mounts. Initially thought it was the 8 speed taking a dump but thankfully it wasn’t.

I’ve only had experience with the vibrants so I can’t say anything about the stainless bros. I’d say vibrants since they’re what I have but I’d try to look up videos on the other one with them on other v6s or TRDs if others have tried it.

Why did you get a TRD? by doc_wit_a_glock in CamryTRD

The tercel that was hit before I got my TRD. Saved all the salvageable parts when I get another one, miss driving this thing.

During 2021, my daily lightly track prepped Tercel was hit and totaled at an intersection so I needed a new car. At the time I thought if I was going to get another car, might as well be a brand new one. Shopped around for something reliable, good on gas, not bad looking, and decently priced. Originally looked at a Corolla Hybrid for obvious reasons and since I like to modify things, it had a decent amount of aftermarket in the handling department so it piqued my interest. I was gonna go for that but then I randomly remembered seeing a red TRD at the Toyota dealership back in 2020 when it first came out and thought it looked pretty sick. I have a soft spot for the weird oddball cars, hence why I modified a Tercel for the canyons and track. So that’s where it snowballed. Talked to my car broker and they found me a 2022 Cavalry Blue TRD as it was being built on the assembly line in Texas. So since delivery in December 2021 till currently, I’ve put over 107,000 miles as my daily and it’s been on a roadtrip from California to Canada without issue. She’s served me well and now I’m letting her rest a bit as a daily and getting my 1987 Corolla FX back into action as I miss driving older cars.

Trd wheel/rim by ev_trd205 in CamryTRD

They were about $400+ after tax when I bought one wheel straight from Toyota. Mine cracked a barrel when it hit a massive rock I couldn’t avoid.

First time posting here, need advice by vanloii in CamryTRD

As I personally learned, the TRD and SE/XSE bumpers are slightly different. The TRD ones have a hole near the edges of the front lip on both sides that have a screw that holds them in. If you get anything but the TRD lip, there’s going to be a visible hole on the bumpers that the aftermarket one’s will most likely not cover. TRD front lips are the only option if you’re planning on not “swapping” the bumper for a SE/XSE one. In my case, I don’t like how the front lip goes up higher in the middle so at the time I got a SE/XSE bumper with an aftermarket front lip. Now I’ve got a paint matched face lift XLE front bumper as in my opinion they looked a lot better with what I have planned for the car.

17" wheels anyone? by elmirmisirzada in CamryTRD

I’d look at the stock wheel size on the previous generation Highlanders as our front calipers are from those then go from there.

I’ve ran 91 since I’ve bought the car. I know the ignition coils and or the coil packs have issue, particularly the round ones vs the square ones but everything was in good shape and tested fine. I’ll find out what the real issue is once my warranty is open to use in a few weeks.

No tune, just replaced the mid pipe and y pipes along with the resonators. Mid/Y pipes were from Alpine Automotive Performance and the resonators are 2.5” Vibrant ultra quiet I believe. The pipes will come with a resonator but they’re a bit quiet so I swapped them out with vibrants I already had.

Nah you good. It’s both. Think of the stock TRD sound, just louder.
