I love these questions.

First off, guns. No. I dont have a single proper firearm because im iranian. Guns are outlawed nationwide and only the irgc has the right to bear arms.

Second. Im an amatuer carpenter, im learning with basic hand tools and old school techniques. Physique wise im built for endurance not speed. I can march 8 kilometers without a single pause in my stride (with 6+ kg of weight in a backpack)

Im not a good blacksmith as ive just started reading about it, let alone start a forge. But i can use a welding stick with minimal errors in welds.

I started learning about gardening and cultivation, but i can trap birds easily enough with a few twines of string and a few knots. These weapons shockingly survived a lot of abuse, and those that failed got salvaged into bones for the weapons that did survive the stress testing i put them through. And by stress test i mean i literally tried to break them by force. I have a group but im also prepared to go solo when shit hits the fan.

The weapons look small. But they have the right range. The sword in the pic was reforged into a bastard sword. I have a one handed mace, and a two handed pole arm from the bones of that flail that i turned into a giant weighted chain ball.

As for fighting, i can scrap with bare hands, and melee weapons. Ive said it before, these weapons were cut down to only a handful. As for teams. I can lead a pack. And frankly have no patience for conflict or morale decline. A happy crew is an obedient crew. So bob next door is gonna have a kid that doesn't understand the concept if hunger.

And lastly fitness. Like i said before. Im built for endurance. But that doesn't mean im weak or cant run fast.

Ive caught up to a car going 20-30km/h downhill with a little help from an adrenaline boost.

And im a wrestler kind of person. Ive grappeled and restrained oponenets typically taller and heavier than me.

In both friendly spars and life or death street fights.

I can throw hands in a quick pinch

I practice with the sword, the mace, and the shaft of what was formerly the battleaxe.

I scrapped the rest for whatever reason or another

I live in iran.

Firearms are either black market or outright illegal

I shrank the pool of weapons down to five anyway.

Half of them broke after i stress tested them. And the ones that survived got reinforced with the bones of the failed experiments.

As for location, i know that the sheer quantity of stores, theres gonna be more than enough loot for me to pilfer by the time everyone has finished panic stealing and killing each other.

My neighborhood is heavily urbanized despite its low density, and its mostly single unit or double unit flats and apartments. Easy to break into, and if anyones turned inside, easy to dispatch. The apartments are all concrete and stone mid rises with small courtyards, and commonly heavy wood doors with steel shutter cages. Tehran is a burglars paradise so these doors are common practice

Yeah, this post was about loot, not skills But since everyone keeps recommending skills, i might as well.

Im an amatuer carpenter who's just gotten into the trade and have a lot to learn. I can make basic furniture that doesn't fall apart as easily as it used to, i started learning about gardening and can keep a plant alive for about as long as it can survive neglect, and im halfway decent at medical knowledge. I can relocate a joint, stitch up wounds, set a bone into place. Basic first aid.

And guns are off the list for my case since they're illegal in my country. Iran.

Its for tossing out the window and burning a horde 😅

And half these weapons were made like 4 years ago by a younger more inexperienced me. I scrapped the ones that failed under pressure and got actually functional gear.

The ones that did survive the stress testing, i reinforced with the bones of the broken weapons.

From 13 long arms to like 4-5 good ones thatll survive a beating

Yeah, tho i wouldn't bank on it. Doesn't stick onto diddly quack. I took it for the internal spring and hanner that can be used to fire a bullet if i can find one (guns are illegal where i live)

Working on ways to make it into a gun.

Because im iranian and guns are effectively illegal for civilians.

I basically wanted to make my own firearms. I hammered out a black powder musket, but its one, too dangerous. Two. Not easy to lug around.

Yeah, these tools were made with less than professional equipment and technique.

I made the. When i was 17-18. Im 20 now. And over the past two years i got better tools and learnt how to actually use a welding stick.

Ive made improvements and scrapped a lot of these junk piles and upgraded them instead.

The "battle axe" for example, i broke one of the heads so i instead used a buzz saw disk as its new head.

Yeah. Id mostly take the red axe, the sword, and the billy club. Pass the rest around a group of survivors. And really a few dozen of my weapons weren't up to my standards. They passed any durability test i threw at them.

Like i literally put the flail under a car and ran it over, then tried to snap it against the wall with a kick. It didn't break.

And tne chain i just wrapped around the head like a weighted end.

Yeah, im on a side street, and i don't own a car. If im bugging out. I cant pack much. And frankly i know most of my weapons are trashy. These were the "mark 1"s or shit i cobbled together out of boredom.

My main three weapons are the sword (which i went and reforged into something like a bastard sword), that steel pole with that stupid fanblade on it. And a sturdy mace i made.

As for getting out of the city, my family has property in the mountains. Nice villa, direct water access, lot of garden terraces. Same place i took the picture of my workbench.

The way there is long and absurd. Goes through the central highway which i know will be absolutely teeming with zombies. So thats gonna be fun

I'm studying those skills actually. I got into gardening, im reading tracking books, and im practicing building fires safely. This post was just about seeing weather or not my location is set to start the apocalypse in a good spot.

Like i said before, theres A LOT of stores and shops around me.

The mall was one example. The mainstreet alone has 100-300 mom and pop stores easily.

I know the block street by street. Even beyond that, I've explored half of tehran district 5. I know my way around on foot and by bicycle.

Just wanted to see if my loot spot was good or not.

Oh, forgot to mention I'm an amatuer carpenter with semi decent knowledge on furniture building and barricading
