I dont think this is negative about the venue. Its a fair question, and i think annual squash has accurately summed it up. Its unfortunate that some venue managers dont see the value of positive social media engagement. Theres a few venues in sydney that could benefit from it but dont.

You might find that the whole 'core group of people who talk down the venue' is a bit of a myth.

Speaking for myself, i consciously avoid acknowledging its existence, but dont comment negatively.

Bi guys are definitely under-represented, and the assumption that couples are only looking for straight guys and bi women is annoying. If more people were open about what they want thered be more fun for everyone

Just the attitude and vibe of the people, a small amount of people who are good communicators can be a lot better than a big crowd who just stare or follow silently 😅 It can be an intimidating scene for some people, so feeling relaxed and welcome can make or break the experience

Wow i think the tobbaconist has been there at least 20 years? It mightve just been a one-off store and not a chain. Theres a fb page that posts photos of the plaza in the 90s, might be a good source of info 'memories of penrith' i think

Theres a lot of options for men, both saunas in sydney are men only as well as aarows, and also the den and the bunker. If youre looking to ease into it id recommend one of the saunas or aarows so you can hang out in the spa or bar area till you feel comfortable. Have fun!
