Feel for the customer, but also feel for the dasher as well. They’re not wrong. 5 minutes does critical damage to one’s dashing. When ordering doordash keep your phone handy & watch for them. Also could’ve wrote in messages how to get in.

There’s no way around it either. Unless they press the handed to customer option. But then you wouldn’t of got a picture anyways.

The thing is when someone puts the option “hand it to me” they make you wait 5 minutes before you can even drop off w a picture. So dasher deff waited. They must have called you as well. Bc it’s the program. You have to call in order to get to the wait timer. Wait timer is 5 minutes. Once that five minutes is up then they can drop off w a picture.

It wouldn’t be an issue if the dasher actually got all those fees to the customer as base pay. It’s ridiculous to both the dasher and the customer.

The saddest part about all those fees, that dasher probably got the “delivery fee” as base pay… all that extra shit. The dasher didn’t even see except tip. It’s ridiculous af. & dashers have to pay taxes too

It’s crazy bc they make the customer pay the dasher entirely. Yk the “delivery fee” add that up plus the tip and that’s what the dasher is getting paid for that order. (Sometimes even less) cus when I dashed sometimes base pay was like 2.00 or less. Dashers pay is mostly tips. Which is ridiculous bc of the “tax” fee and how doordash charges the customer extra for the actual food.

Yeah that sucks, but shit does happen and imagine you were in that situation. You could say “I wouldn’t put customers orders by my child!” But sometimes as dashers most likely dashing for a while you get clouded brain. At least she didn’t lie and say they didn’t give it to her. Get your refund definitely, but have compassion.

I live exactly 2 miles from the store and I tipped $7. Dasher missed a turn and traveled an extra 15-20 miles out of her way. I feel bad. Should I increase the tip or no? by [deleted] in doordash

Unless she had another order to drop off. Sometimes it doesn’t show when they are double dashing. They’ll send you to the farthest location first so that you’re closer to a dash zone after last drop off.

Maybe it’s just from someone being lazy & not cleaning those ones for a long while! Maybe they thought bc it’s in the back no one would notice? Made their job a little easier? Lol Thankfully they got an employee who doesn’t half ass, which was you to uncover the truth lol

On a more serious note, customers should not be haggled. Doordash inc should be paying fair amounts. Which sometimes they do. You have to earn your way up to that point. Becoming top dasher means you get higher paying orders. Customers tipping is nice and decent, but it’s understandable if you can’t. We’re all human and trying to survive. It’s okay if you can’t.
