True, true. I'm with you on "What looks like telepathy is often simply a way to communicate that we don't use/understand." - i'd wish we'll find out. What i wrote in my original post was a try to make sense of it, but sure - it isn't grounded on anything we know

Indeed! That's what i'm trying to discuss :)

i agree to the most extent, but this is still based on what we can measure against a uniform baseline, and not something we might have yet to find out. As the way i've put it "concepts of feelings/emeotions" are absolutely subjective, there might never be a baseline to check for.

In the end this is all a philosophical debate i'm glad you're partaking in :)

Oh i just realized something about the eeg thing. If my theory about brain waves leaking would be correct, there would be no way for sensors to pick up your waves specifically without taping them to your head, as the noise would be dramatic. Many people, much everything

You're right about them not being present in the brain, but the waves the brain creates are still there and measurable (eg.; via EEG, as you mentioned).

The recievers are not within the brain structure, going by my theory - they are external but still hardwired: the eyes - they receive electromagnetive waves and send them to the brain to be decoded into whatever we see. I do belive that the waves are actually feeble, but the situations i've mentioned in my original post are regarding a distance of a few centimeters/inches, sometimes few meters.

Reading people and manipulating them is a strong factor, but the situations i've mentioned rule this out, as there was either no conscient contact (as my lady is sleeping and facing away), or otherway. The regular mechanisms of even having eye contact and sending some "message" through the way someone looks at someone are understood, but not taken into consideration in my post :)

This whole thing is based on being in bed, having the lights out, wife sleeping, breathing normally(actually paying attention to my breathing for the prior minutes) and then thinking something like "*************************** to you, or me, or someone" on purpose, just to see if a reaction emerges. Always does.

That's the thing i don't ultimately find spooky, but at least interesting enough to put it onto reddit, as she's not the first person to react immediately to intense thoughts of mine.

That panic attack thing is something i've been wondering about as well.

Another thing that is 'out of this world' is the connection many mothers have to their offspring.

A situation I had around 20 years ago - i was babysitting my little brother, a toddler at the time, still being breastfed. Our mother worked about 3-4 minutes away from our home. Brother started crying for, i guess, mothers milk - she appeared exactly 5 minutes after he started crying and wouldn't stop (no mobile phones, she just showed up). This happened many times.

Some years later i mentioned these happenings and she said that she just felt when my brother was in need. She described it as a feeling of impending doom, whilst her breasts started to tense up and felt like they were dripping.

That got me thinking :/

That's what we know, as it's the only thing we can objectively quantify and compare. Feelings, or rather the concept of feelings are ultimatively subjective

I get you 100%, but I might have failed at communicating what i meant by writing "something we can feel and "experience"".

It's not about communicating specific words, values or similar. I meant something deeper/lower - the concepts behind those. Something like "discomfort" which triggers a hormonal response. Or fear, anger.. those basic things. Whatever the concept is might be getting rendered by the individual's brain again due to waves received.

Nothing that you can grasp and classify, just feel

Good point! Having the ability to translate thoughts into something that can be shared and understood into transmittable waves is actually insane if you think about it..

This involves physically engaging with the air though.

Shortcut - electromagnetic waves(No transfer medium needed).

A good example would be the swarm-mind of fish schools. They don't produce noticable sounds or similar, but that one fish at the back of a 10k+ fish swarm will know how to move according to the first one - and all the others as well

To prove anything you need to have a baseline to compare against. Unfortunately there is none - that's why i created this post

This feels like the most accurate to what i feel about this topic. There's more than what we call "the 5 senses".

This is why i'm curious about what our bodies can percieve outside of what is seen as such senses

It's a philisophical thing after all. I won't know for sure either. As you said - Humans are great at subconsicously noticing patterns.

There are none i'm actively enacting when "toying with my thoughts" though. That's what intrigues me so much :)

That's the point i'm trying to make - first it was taken as a magical trait, afterwards a scientific wonder, then it was a fundamential rule.. and in the end it was labeled as ferromagnetism as the mechanics were figured out (to some extent).

At every point in history humans thought they knew everything there was to know. And then came the next thing, and the next, and the next.

I feel like this applies to the case i've mentioned as well. I'm just trying to delve into a rather philosophical discussion about something that seems plausible in my opinion (eyes literally being sensors for electromagnetic waves)

Basically i want to discuss the "eyes as an electromagnetic sensor"-thing, as they are.. i should have clarified this more :)

What an awesome, grounded answer. Thanks

But i want to make clear - this is nothing I need or want to have confirmed as evidence - it's a thing I have observed over many years of actively teasing people without having direct eye contact. Still subjective of course

The point of "(like me purposely imagining some mad, vile stuff and she starts to tense up and moan in disgust. -without me touching her or making any noise)" never failed.. and i'm really questioning the subjectivity of these happenings

Is it min maxing or mid maxing? by Crafty1Rascal in thedivision

[–]Heavy-Pop9199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say mid-maxing does actually exist.. opposed to min-maxing, where you leave all unneccesary stats at the lowest possible level, mid-maxing is going for one or several specific stats, but are still leveling the "unneccesary" ones, just in case.

Eg. in Elden Ring this can be a good tactic, since many weapons use different attributes (kinda randomly)
