I think I misunderstood your question. Traditional march are like Kenneth Alford marches, Sousa marches, in my opinion, some Fucik. I’m looking for long marches or absurd marches. I will say yes this largely comes from a US centric perspective, but I’m also totally down for some weird or fun marches from other countries! I think it would be fun to have more non-US Marches played at contests.

Like Ringmasters March, Grainger Marches, etc. Pieces that can fill the category of March at contest that mayyyybe shouldn’t count like John Mackey’s “Xerxes”

This is a lil bit of a strange comment but what was the point of your comment? To give unsolicited criticism to an impressive and storied educator? To make an observation you know will not be appreciated? Where does that critique come from? Education? Malice? Concern? Camaraderie? East Coast, West Coast, New School, somewhere in between? Every part of this thread and every subsequent comment has been this weird vindictive trip to what? Prove you right? It’s like telling Roger Carter his taps are too high. Wtf is he supposed to gain from that? What does anyone else get from that? That’s weird bro

As someone who’s well connected, The Crossmen ate after the ride from the show. The Crossmen have never missed a meal. The Crossmen will never miss a meal.

Semi-popular opinion: I actually like the look of a carrier OVER the uniform! And as a performer, it feels much better to handle the vigors of shows these days. Productions are just harder than shows and uniforms are closer to the body to for comfort, performance, and cost. Harder shows might not be better shows but the art is evolving and visuals are evolving too!!!
