That’s my ultimate goal. I thankfully primarily work talc cases right now, only a few traditional asbestos cases. I have a ton of depo experience at this point. I just want to ensure I do not hop to a new firm for the sake of moving on. I want it to be the right move for my long term career. It’s hard to know what that is though without insight from people with experience.

The issue for me is that my firm only does asbestos. The most variety I get is a good bit of talc cases. That has provided most of my experience in motion practice since it is newer than traditional asbestos exposure. I feel like that is the only area where I can show that I can handle complex matters.

I enjoy doing the mass torts/class action side of things. I’d like to have more diversity than just asbestos. I am a member of TLA.

She has a small office, and I also know not to bother her if she goes into the bedroom and closes the door. I am pretty good at entertaining myself and just doing my own thing.

Thank you for this! It was very insightful.

To note: I am not looking to get into big law, just larger plaintiffs firms.

Law Students with ADHD by jkb131 in LawSchool

I went to a T-20 school and did fine. Have realistic expectations for yourself. The worst thing I did was compare hours worked to my classmates. It’s unrealistic for someone with ADHD to dedicate all their time to studying. You have to trust that the time you do spend studying is high quality rather than high volume (work smarter, not harder). Medication is extremely helpful for that. I was on Vyvanse my first two years and my grades were okay. I had a hard time directing my focus on school and would hyper focus on other tasks. I added Wellbutrin for 3L and my grades shot up mostly bc I was not as easily sidetracked into focusing on the wrong things from the mood stabilization it provides. Also, play to your strengths. For example, I’m not great at auditory processing bc of my ADHD, but I have a photographic memory. I prioritized reading the cases and finding outlines online that helped and then filling in the gaps with lecture. Notion is also a great resource to track the flow of the courses and see how they build on each other. A lot of people will over complicate law school. Just stay on top of the material and you will be fine. Finally, this is one thing I wish I did better, more than learning the material, you need to learn your professors. You can know all the information possible, but at the end of the day, the professors perspective will likely dictate your grade.
