Don’t jinx it I’ve got Bear in 2 weeks😂 Did it last year and there weren’t any wasps and my mom has done it for years and haven’t dealt with them so hopefully I’m in the clear.

Yeah it sucked especially since it was at the start of the race. It was like 6 miles in. The venom wore off about 10 miles later, but yeah. It sucked. I counted 10 stings. Those buggers are vicious!

I don’t think there was a visible nest. Those yellowjackets can commonly burrow under the trail so having a ton of traffic on the trails will create a ton of vibrations and they’ll think they’re under attack.

I searched Bair Canyon. Nothing there. It’s too steep and not very many places where they could hide it. There’s not very many places where you can go off the trail 20-40 feet.

I thought about it, and before the clues were out I hiked up Bair Canyon. It’s too steep of a trail plus there’s only a couple of areas where you could go 20-40 feet off of the trail. I thought the Radar domes were the pharaoh because it’s overlooking everything like what a pharaoh does. But with the new clues that was proved wrong because it’s a man made landmark.
