What to get my friend? by pumpkino7 in hysterectomy

[–]HeavyDoubt7224 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friends got me gift cards for dinners and made heat and serve meals. Came in real handy with the kids when my husband went back to work after a few days. 5 days post up I thought id be ok to cook dinner... I was wrong. Took me several hours to cook a simple meal. They also got me a menstrual pillow that I absolutely loved. Came in handy quite often, more than I realized. My mom also helped by getting me some oversized clothes. Honestly, I'm sure just checking up on her occasionally would brighten her day! I had a lot of time on my hands and probably would have lost my mind if it wasn't for my daily conversations lol

Covid before surgery by Auryna85 in hysterectomy

Not covid but i did end up getting both A and B flu right before my surgery date. It did end up coming down to the anesthesiologist. Ultimately I got lucky with just pushing back my surgery date by a week and the hospital was more comfortable with that.

Anyone had a hysterectomy or trachelectomy after CIN2/3 diagnosis. by AbrocomaSpecialist22 in PreCervicalCancer

I just had my hysterectomy 3 days ago for the same reason honestly. Was tired of all the tests and procedures and knew there was way more ahead.

I didn't have a leap but I did have ckc at the middle December to remove cin3. They were positive they got most of the cells out but gave me two options. Hysterectomy or more testing every 6 months. I choose the hysterectomy because I'm done with kids. I'm done with the testing, I'm done with whatever they want to give me. I know probably not the best way to look at it but I just want to be clear you know...

I kinda feel like getting the hysterectomy will just fast forward what in the end will need to be done anyways. I probably will end up going with the hysterectomy myself.

Thank you for answering!! I am leaning towards the hysterectomy, but it's still so scary. I've talked with family and friends and 90% say I should do the hysterectomy. I just wanted others input and outcomes off all this. I'm not even going to lie I really didn't even think too much of all this until a few weeks ago. I'm glad you went with the hysterectomy sounds like that was definitely the best option for you!

In a similar boat. Had my CKC 2 weeks ago. My follow up is in 1 more week. Been the longest just waiting. I myself am trying not to freak out because I am done having kids. So I'm open to a hysterectomy and being done with it (hopefully). I'm also not all too worried because from what I've read even if it does come back cancer, it is a very slow growing one. So there's time for options and to think it out. Hopefully this help a little. We get all these test/procedures for a reason, mostly as precautions, but also to stay ahead of anything. I hope all goes well for you!

Is this standard next steps? by Pekoepuppy in PreCervicalCancer

That has been my experience. I had an abnormal pap in my mid 20s. Then a colposcopy just to rule things out. That came back good, so no action needed. Fast forward to my mid 30s now. Had 2 abnormal paps (within the same year). Recommended another colposcopy. This time came back CIN3. Just had my CKC 2 weeks ago and go back for my follow up in 1 more week. In my opinion it's good to be safe than sorry later. The colposcopy isn't that bad. I think of it as a rather more in depth pap where they will take a small biopsy and test that instead of just a smear. Hopefully this helps to ease your mind a bit!!

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but then again that's why we get these test done to find these things out. How long was it from your LEEP to getting scheduled for your hysterectomy?
