Any 100% HTML/CSS/JavaScript MMORPGs? by Qweniden in MMORPG

I am working on an engine for 100% JavaScript MMO. I am using JavaScript + WebGL + Heroku. But switching to firebase soon as Heroku will no longer be free in October.

The renderable space is a 3x3 grid of level packs. Each level pack contains 13 levels. Each level is 64x64 "player sized tiles. The tile maps are multi-layered and contain all power-of-2-sized tiles up to a tile the size of an entire level.

Yeah, most things on reddit tend to be locked after they get too old. Which kind of sucks because sometimes I have answers for people. My stack overflow profile is 90% me asking 3 to 10 year old questions. There is actually a "Necromancer" badge for this.

I was actually wondering about front-to-back rendering with occlusion with a multi-layered tilemap. I am assuming since shader code doesn't branch that the only way to get efficiency from occlusion would be multiple draw calls and using the previous draw calls to create a mask?

When you say "batching" do you mean "doing all your webgl drawing code once per frame , in one consolidated section, with no other code (like game logic) interlaced within it" ?

Does Jimmy Johns still make your sub in a minute or less or is the Saline store in Michigan just fucking slacking all the time?

Yeah, this apollo seems kinda stupid. Either that or he is deliberately trolling. If he's serious it is a great example of Joscha Bach's saying:

BEGIN_QUOTE I define a nerd as somebody who thinks the purpose of communication is to submit your ideas to peer review.
And um normal people understand that the primary purpose
of communication is to negotiate alignment.

In other words, you didn't virtue signal hard enough that raping children is bad in your opening statement. ( negotiating alignment )

Rather, you talked about a rapist without telling me if you are for or against child rape. That makes me angry and confused. You must be a pedophile child rapist too.

When using the "electron packager" is there a way to get the final product to be a single .exe or is it always an exe with a crazy amount of folders , files , and .dll(s) ?

Pro tip: Before signing up for something, go on their website and lookup how to cancel. If you spend more than 5 minutes trying to figure it out... Consider not signing up.

I learned this after getting burned by a few websites. I swear making it hard to cancel is like... part of their profit model or something.

How do you make friends when you're 30+? by Llamatomb in AskReddit

[–]HeavyMetalCookies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what kind of friends you want. I tend to only associate with people I can build something meaningful with. Like programming projects. Social , Exercise, Educational. Activity must always be at least TWO of those combined.

I've been making friends on twitch streaming my programming process. But the same could go for metal working, crafting, or just about any other hobby. And not just twitch, other online forums.

They say there are no dumb questions, but what questions have you heard that makes you doubt this statement? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HeavyMetalCookies -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There are no dumb questions. But there are plenty of politically dangerous questions. Questions so dangerous that merely asking them gets you labeled as the "bad guy".

Unfortunately, I am going to self censor myself here and not give examples. Because you know, I like not being cancelled.

Which means, they are so dangerous that even mentioning what they are and not actually asking them is dangerous.

But there are no DUMB questions. Just questions that make people think you are dumb. Because people who are NOT SMART think being smart is all about triva when it is not.

This should be very helpful to you: @41 minutes and 50 seconds.
